I use the off season, yes we have one up this way, keeping busy making and modifying tackle. Normally I don’t begin until after the holidays, but I’m already epoxy coating jigs that I’ll eventually be tying.

Is anyone else getting an early start with their tackle making, or is yours a year round hobby?

Have not stopped for about 3 years straight. What I make changes but I am always working on something.

I do some work during the season.  Usually replacing flies, or in-line spinners that my fishing buddies lose or replacing a damaged guide or tip on the rods we use.   My main maintenance/replacing/building time is from just after the holidays through late spring.  This winter I have a new spinning rod to build, rebuild 2 spinning rods and one standard rod.  I'm going to be replacing guides, reel seats and grips on them.  In-line spinners to make, plan to try making some spinner baits, and always as flies to tie.

Year round. I probably make more during the fishing season than winter months, gets too cold where I make my baits to sit out there too long.

When we built our house I designed the garage with a bait making area and a built in floor to ceiling cabinet for storage.  I also had the garage walls and the ceiling insulated so it rarely gets below 55° in there.

My stuff is handy and only takes a couple of minutes to setup whether it be pouring lead or plastic.  I make stuff all year long as I need it to keep the bait boxes stocked which is normally a time or two each week.

Becoming more year around for me. My apartment is being over-ran with fishing stuff currently. My computer desk doubles as a tying station and i was able to convert a closet to a painting area. I mean what better way to avoid homework than to tie jigs instead.

I've been at it pretty hard getting jig heads and drop shot sinkers made for next year! Got most poured, just gotta paint. Also need another mold for more variety. This May have become a sickness...but man it's fun!

Yes, it will become a sickness but my guess is it already has.
