WPCfishing Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 Information need on the Daiwa BLX and the GLoomis NRX+ I’m considering both, price does come into play. I have heard there are deals around on the GLX+. Would still be higher priced than the Daiwa. looking forward to hearing your experiences with these rods. Thank you. Quote
newapti5 Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 I have a Daiwa BLX rod, 7' MH extra fast. Craftsmanship is quite nice, but as a do-everything model, it's a bit on the stiff side. Sensitivity is a personal thing. I don't own a NRX+, but I'd say BLX's sensitivity is on bar with my GLX. I got it on 50% off during the sales of Sierra. Quote
ABrugs Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 I'll be following this thread as well, @WPCfishing. I'm really interested in the NRX+ MBRs. Thanks for posting! Quote
WPCfishing Posted November 10, 2021 Author Posted November 10, 2021 I just purchased two NRX+ rods from ***. They gave me a discount. Nice! Daiwa rods were totally out of stock. Bought the 7’1” medium extra fast and the 7’5” heavy fast. Happy to know they have the Ci4 reel seat which is my favorite. 1 hour ago, ABrugs said: I'll be following this thread as well, @WPCfishing. Can I get a link to Sierra please!!! Quote

I also got my 172BLXH+ on the Sierra deal, and I like it for heavy jigs (5/8-3/4oz) in thick weeds. But for the same exact techniques, I slightly prefer my Expride 7'3XH. I think this particular BLX model might be the weakest of their offerings and don't recommend it at msrp. scott Quote

The weights were much higher than advertised and very tip heavy. Emailed for a RMA. Disappointed. Quote

I have 3 of them and 5 higher priced rods and in hindsight probably should have gotten more exprides rather than some of those others. The 7'6" MH is just perfect for me. scott Quote

Both my Expride and Daiwa 7’6” rods are as light or lighter and they balance perfectly. Quote
