I'm one of those fisherman that is very picky/choosy about my equipment.  I want exactly what I want, down to the color.

When it comes to braided line, I want three things: fade proof, smoothness, and more than just one color option.

Low-vis or moss green seems to be 75% of the offerings.

I loved the "smoke" color of berkley fireline, but disliked just about everything else about it.

My preferred braid is Sufix ProMix, at least for now, because it's fade proof and manageable.

When can we get more color options, specifically a coastal brown or more of an olive drab vs the more green colors?

And seriously...colorfast braided line shouldn't be so hard to find.  Basically, there's only 2 widely available braids that won't fade out.

The fish don't care. It's a lot like camo, the deer don't care. There are a lot of other factors that are more important than the color of your braid, or the color of your camo.

All of them fade, some just do it faster than others. I've got smoke, lime green, chartreuse, blue, pink, black, camo green, and white just off the top of my head in the garage.

The Stealth Gray and Flash Green colors that Seaguar Smackdown come in are 2 of my favorites.

Fins doesn’t color fade. I have Original PRT green that is 30 years old and still the same color as the line still on the filler spool. Currently using the small diameter Fins Sling Braid in lieu of Seaguar Smack Down that for whatever reason didn’t cast well for me.

Anyone want a new 20# spool of bright green Smack Down will sell it for Price!

I know the fish would care less...I don't use leaders at all and the fish don't care.

It's more of a customization thing to me.  I use colors to denote lb/test on different combos.

I lovee Yo-Zuri's hi-vis yellow and also the electric blue - the blue matches my shimano SLX rod almost exactly...looks very cool. It's a bit stiff when you first put it on and the color will stain your hands a bit but it retains the color just fine compared to super8slickv2/big game braid/regular power pro and softens up beautifully. I'm an audio engineer by trade so sound is also important to me. This one sings the right way.

I just ordered some Rikimaru red braid to match the Daiwa Fuego I just got, it's 8-carrier which is not my favorite but it had a lot of better-versed reviews than the other red braids I could find. I use a copolymer leader so the braid color is purely vain aesthetic. Might as well give it a shot, right?

on a side note, ever get to try that thread idea out?

Hitena Pureline comes in white and gray, and I doubt if there is a better braid out there.  Beyond Braid, check their wegsite, has camo and some kind of green, maybe more.  That is good quality line, too.

I love that idea, can’t believe I never thought of it.

Not yet.

My arm has been giving me trouble, so I haven't fished much.

I use 1/4" round colored stickers for line identification.     Stick one on the spool of line and then put the same color on the reel when you spool it up. They are very cheap,  peel off easily and come in more colors than you need.  Only down side is they will fade in sunlight and don't last forever so you have to replace them occasionally.

I use whatever color that available from Sufix832, Nanofil and Power Pro. Meaning I don’t care much about color but quality of braid.  Those 3 combined of color and characteristics of braid give me many choices that I know what lb I’m using.

Drak green, yellow, coastal blue, blue red, white. Chartreuse.

Im colorblind so I do not really care about color much, the only time I opt for colored line is when finesse fishing, Because when fishing low light I cannot see a clear floro or mono for the life of me, so anything that contrasts the background of the water works for me. Personally if it comes down to color to that extreme ill just switch over to a leader system or mono/floro.

Thanks.  It's healing, but like most things, never seems quickly enough.

I can make about 75% of my max distance now, but only 2 or 3 times lol

Makes sense.

I use the ProMix because it's both colorfast AND high quality.

I have some strike king tour grade braid that is also excellent, but fades.  The olive drab color is awesome though.

I'd want: brown, dark gray/smoke, moss green, tan.

Vicious No-fade braid doesn't fade, and it's quite nice for casting. You can find many positive feedbacks on Tackle Warehouse. However, it only comes in green and blue I think, and it's rather hard to find on the market besides TW.

Fins pitch black braid doesn't fade either, and it's relatively easier to find. As the name suggests, it's pure black. TT did a detailed review on them.

Finatic Tackle Pro braided line doesn't fade as well; that's one of their marketing selling points. They have white/green, and white/blue color to choose from.  TT gave it an "Editor Choice" award. My personal experience is similar to their review: it doesn't fade at all.  Unfortunately, you can only order from their website, and it stopped working a couple of months back. The company might have gone south.

Other than these, many JDM braid don't fade easily, and there're many color choices, like the YGK G-Soul X8 braid.

Reaction Tackle out of Wisconsin offers a number of colors for both it's 4-carrier and 8-carrier braid...including 'Timber Brown'.

Since we are talking about colors of braid, is there consensus about which color is most visible?  Of all the colors, hi-vis yellow seems to be the most visible that I have tried.  However, I have yet to try pink, orange, chartreuse (unless neon lime counts), or white.

I used neon lime last year in Sufix 832. It hardly faded at all and I had no bleeding. I got some yellow to start trying this year. Guys say it's even better. It also comes in white low vis green blue and camo.I always color the last 6 feet black.

I have 832 in the green, may fade a little, white and coastal Camo which is a really cool color combo. Spinning reels I use fireline and have probably had most of the colors they offered including the pink. Never understood the issues people have with it, my only complaint is it is a little stiff when new. Once broke in there are no issues.

In regards to the OP, Izorline makes outstanding braid and makes an "olive drab" color that you might like.

I guess i am lucky in that I don't mind the braid fading a little because to me it still looks "natural" and by time its severely faded, its getting changed out. One can also easily color braid by taking a marker and cutting a slice in the tip with a razor blade and running the line through it.

Ive seen some reviews saying the white is less visible in water than one would assume...guess there's only one way to find out.

Seaguar Smackdown Stealth Grey

Bought some today.  Put it on a SilverMax combo for spinner baits.
