Eyed

In addition to the 2016 change of the lures name from Red Eye Shad to Red Eyed Shad, they also went from the blue Strike King logo to the red logo a year or two prior. I have heard that the plastic that the lures were made of was changed at a point either to counter the constant problem of paint flaking off or perhaps for the introduction of clear color models?

Oh man, had to throw some awesome colors at me ?

My #1 is a RedEye Shad, but I've also had good luck with a Cordell Super Spot.  The vibration on the fall isn't as strong, but enough that it doesn't fall like a rock. Sometimes that more subtle action works better, like in cold water.

Yo-Zuri lipless haveca good swimming action on the fall and up graded hardware hooks etc.

Tom

The Yo-Zuris do indeed have a good action on the fall and don't get the love that a lot of other baits do.

Well, that's a pretty overwhelming response for the RES.  Looks like I'll have to give them another shot.

Thanks for all the replies ??

Have a half dozen different brands. The last three weeks, the fish have preferred 1/2 oz. Lewis rattle traps in white shad color. I think they prefer the higher pitch that it emits due to having smaller and more internal shot. Had 16lb. Bag a couple weeks ago. That ain’t bad for Jersey.

I've used a lot of lipless baits over the years and my top producer is a Cordell spot either in chrome / blue or copper craw.
