Anyone have one of these?  Curious your thoughts on them!  I have a guy locally thats selling a couple new for 70 bucks a piece and I am debating buying one or two.  I have an SLX MGL so im thinking maybe grab one of these for heavier baits, topwaters, etc.  Thanks!

I have one of these from the auction sit with about the same price you mentioned. Very smooth reel for the price, great quality, the only issue that I have is the big heavy deep spool. It's definitely for heavy lures; handles lure under 3/8oz poorly.

This may be perfect then, as i got the MGL for all my lighter lures (lots of medium sized smallmouth where i fish).  What line ya got on yours?

Good price for a good reel.  I have one on my jerkbait rod and have been quite happy with it.

Awesome!  May have to pull the trigger on it then.  What line ya running on it?

I fish clear water for SM mostly also. I just put 15lb fluoro on it for T-rig/jigs,  with some braided line under as backing, to lower the final spool weight a little. That reminds me that I learned that tip from the late Aaron Martens. RIP.

Yeah i fish fairly clear water here in NV as well.  I have flouro on my finesse setups but have braid on my baitcasters, albeit im fairly new to all the bass fishing...mainly trout locations up here in Norhtern Nevada

What rod do you have that on?  Biggest SM ive caught here was 3lbs and rarely do i fish any sort of heavy cover

20# braid to 10# fluoro leader.

The rod I used varies; I like to experiment reels with different rods. Currently it's paring with a Dobyns Champion 735, 7'3" heavy fast, 1/4 ~1 1/2oz.  I've tried it with many other rods, it fits most of them well, except maybe the ACS style reel seat.

Not a fan. Had a Tour S3 made quite the noise while casting. Sent it in and they sent me the downgraded Smoke S3 and yep same noise on cast so pretty much dont use it wasted my money.

My TourS3 is very noisy.  My KVD and other Smokes are not.
