Here is one I tie on the Midwest finesse jig.

Now I know one of the projects I am tackling this winter.  Thanks.

today on the river i watched a river monster make a lunge at my black maribou jig. He was hanging out in an undercut bank within 3 feet of where I was standing.

I watched him dart out, miss and in a flash he was gone into the current. I can only guess him at +3 lbs, he might have been my biggest river smallie this year.

If I had been just jigged that jig a heartbeat later he probably would have nailed it but what fun for November, we've had frost every morning for a week.

I fish hair a lot in the colder periods

easy to tie your own and synthetic hairs work great. Stick with black

can’t figure out how to add a picture

but if I do you’ll get the idea

Gorgeous fish! That jig looks great!

I buy a few dozen Andy's synthetic and bear har jigs each year. They are consistent, use decent hooks and are cheap enough to put in nasty places.

Andy’s jigs are good

I just like tying them myself. I do some buck tails also that have caught them

for color matching, they’re hard to beat

I plan on tying up some marabou jigs for the guys I fish with over the winter.  I have more than enough marabou, not to mention bucktail from my fly tying.  Plus a few unidentified patches of hair.  On the fly fishing side, jigs have become acceptable to tie flies on, but most of the jig hooks used are size 12 and smaller.  I picked up some 1/32 oz Moon Eye jigs, size 6 hooks.  They were in the bargain box at a local sporting goods store and tied up a couple using the unidentified patches of hair.  My color options are limited though.

I also have some 1/20 oz fishhead jigs and Ned jigs to play with.   Definitely some nice work on here.  A lot of good ideas.

Those dogs will hunt!! You’d have to stay on plane to keep the smallies off those

Black, Brown & Shad cover most deals for me up this way.

A-Jay, have you tried his white?  I think you fish a lot of clear water, and for me in clear water, white is very good on swim jigs for smallies.  Wondering about white hair/marabou.

That 'shad' pattern is most white with a hint of light grey, I guess.

Most of the Shad baits I've gotten from Outcast had somewhat less 'color'

than the one pictured on the site.

Either way it's still pretty bright.

Gotta make me a couple of these, have all the stuff to do it.  Artic fox should work.

A friend called called to tell me he caught Montana State Record Smallmouth on my Anywhere Anytime hair jig. The record has fallen since then.

I have used zigjigs for trout for several years now, if I remember correctly they are now making them sized for bass/bigger fish, they work well enough for me.
