Fantastic fall weather & I am catching up on the repairs to the house.  Anybody post about anything fishing ?  Please.

I got my arse kicked on the Columbia last night because I just couldn't find it in me to wait until this weekend to try out my new fly rod...can't say that I caught anything, but it was an awfully pretty evening on the river all the same.

Day before yesterday I was fishing a jitterbug from the bank. I turned my head to look for my beloved wife and BOOM !  3 lber clobbered that sucker.

I used to fish as quiet as possible. Supposed to catch more fish. AND the bigger ones.  70 years ago.   after sundown ?

HOOWY

A jitter bug is very effective parallel to shore lines.

Welcome to the club. I am doing the same thing. Right now I am trying to find some new batteries for my cordless drills so I can get some of it finished.

I haven't fished in 2 months - working on the new boat has taken all my free time...what little I have to begin with.

Surface temp is down to 60. Weeds are pretty much dead and breaking up. Bass and musky are both moving to shallow wood and rock. Fall brawl is about to go down!!!

Repairs on the house!  What's wrong with the house?  Is it on fire?  If so, get your fishing gear out and call the fire department.  Anything else can wait for another day, or, put a tent up at lake and call it a new home for a weekend.

my fisheries have been dead, here in SOCAL the fish really get cranky when water drops tremendously and the water starts cooling... the "fall feed" has been anything BUT a fall feed this year, plus with alot of early rainstorms are hot "october" weather has been like up north with alot of 50-60 degree days and accasionally a 70 degree day. We are breaking records this year. It has created really sucky fall fishing because of all these factors IMHO, and I have only caught ONE fish this entire fall, its been rough. and believe it or not, ive been getting more bites on swimbaits than normal baits.

Trying to get @HaydenS out on my boat to see if we can replicate something like this trip from around this time last year.

But it’s going to pay off when you’re done. ? Delayed gratification.

It's been four weeks since I last wet a line. The longest stretch of inactivity in a while. Another dude trying to get some household projects done. I know the fall transition has been going on. The last time I came close to taking an "L" was this time last year, so maybe I'm just a little apprehensive about adjusting to what is in store for the next four or five months.

I went out yesterday looking for fall brown bass.  It was Very cloudy and they were most uncooperative.  The walleye however were all about the blade bait I was throwing.  Going back tomorrow with the expected sunny conditions.  So we'll see how that goes.  This could be the last trip of the season here for me.

I do ALL of my home repairs and 'honey do's' during the off season. The only thing I do during fishing season related to house work is mow the lawn and back in August I found a kid that'll do it for $20.

At the very least, find a retention pond close by and go wet a line for an hour or so.  The wife will understand.  If she doesn't, maybe you need to revisit that co-habitation thing.

Good luck tomorrow. Hope ya finish out the year with some of those giant brownies you're famous around here for.
