thewhitelotus Posted October 27, 2021 Posted October 27, 2021 Finally decided to give braid to leader a try on my 2000 size spinning/finesse setup. Looking at doing 10 or 15lb braid but curious what brands everyone likes? I will be fishing from shore and mainly tossing drop shots/neds in a rocky bottom environment. I have some 8lb blue label FC and 6lb Mono I was going to use for leaders since I already have it lying around. Thanks! Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted October 27, 2021 Super User Posted October 27, 2021 Upper end - Seaguar Smackdown or Sufix 131 Mid-tier - Sufix 832 I won't go lower than that. Quote
The Bassman Posted October 27, 2021 Posted October 27, 2021 I've got P-Line TCB 8 10# on my Vanford 2000's. Absolutely perfect. Quote
huZZah Posted October 27, 2021 Posted October 27, 2021 Mine is power pro for 10-20lb braid. I think it’s great for the price. Quote
FishinBuck07 Posted October 27, 2021 Posted October 27, 2021 10# power pro in the high vis yellow is all that goes on my spinning reels. 1 Quote

Super User MickD Posted October 27, 2021 Super User Posted October 27, 2021 Want the best? Hitena Pure Line. Suffix 832 next. Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted October 27, 2021 Super User Posted October 27, 2021 I like Sufix 832. Quote
Aaron_H Posted October 27, 2021 Posted October 27, 2021 For my two smaller spinning setups, I run 10# and 15# Power Pro Super Slick. Quote
Super User GetFishorDieTryin Posted October 28, 2021 Super User Posted October 28, 2021 Quite a few good choices available. Out of all of them I would say that either Power Pro V2 or Berkley X9 give you the most for your money. Both lines are low dia and handle well which makes them cast great. Both handle abrasion surprisingly well, although if you notice a rough spot or damaged line you should cut and retie. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 28, 2021 Global Moderator Posted October 28, 2021 I use Smackdown Flash Green but actually stepped up to 20lb because it seemed to handle better than the 10 or 15 on my Ned rig and wacky rig rods. Quote
Oklahoma Mike Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 I use Smackdown on all my bc reels but I’ve gone to Fins Spin Braid on all my spinning setups and absolutely love it. Quote
