Super User Koz Posted January 21, 2022 Super User Posted January 21, 2022 Last week's forecast of snow and ice fizzled out here in central GA. But the forecast for tonight calls for some snow and icing conditions. To prepare for that I have some Sriracha chili in the slow cooker that will be ready later tonight and carry me through the weekend. Unfortunately, the three day weekend I had planned is off as I need to punch (inspect) rooms that the painters are turning over on Sunday. But that's OK since it's too cold to be outdoors. I'll try again next weekend. 1 Quote

Way north bass guy Posted January 22, 2022 Author Posted January 22, 2022 Woke up this morning to -35C outside. Sure glad the wind wasn’t blowing or it would’ve felt a lot worse on the face. The old truck sure did growl and complain when I fired it up for work! 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted January 22, 2022 Global Moderator Posted January 22, 2022 Y’all made me feel a little better. I’m going fishing in the morning, i thought I might freeze to death at 20 degrees……… but after reading this, I think I’ll make it Quote

I was letting my dog out at 7am and I heard my neighbor start his truck. That thing sounded ROUGH when he started it too lol. First it squealed, then coughed, and when it finally turned over it sounded like it was gonna blow up! 2 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted January 22, 2022 Global Moderator Posted January 22, 2022 Went for a walk this morning, looks like the season is over. We are all locked in here. (For the record I didn’t throw that rock on there). just kidding I’m leaving to go launch the boat in about 30 minutes 1 5 Quote
Super User Koz Posted January 22, 2022 Super User Posted January 22, 2022 Once again, the prognosticators were wrong. No snow here, but the temperature was below freezing all night. There are black ice warnings out, but I'll never know because I have no reason to head out today. It's kind of nice having nothing to do today except a few chores around the house. Quote

Super User DitchPanda Posted January 22, 2022 Super User Posted January 22, 2022 I'm doing what I can to survive winter up here in the Midwest or southern north? Whatever you'd call Iowa . Doing my normal stuff...watching and reading tons of fishing stuff and filling in gaps in the arsenal..just got a new jerk bait rod in last week and I have a jig rod on the way. Normally I'd ice fish to help hold me over but I'm just not feeling it at all. Luckily between my new role at work and my diet\lifestyle change I've got things to focus on which helps. If we are lucky up here like last year I've only got 5 weeks til ice out..realistically it will likely be more like 8. Positive note I've been doing a moderate keto style deal since just before Christmas and I've lost 12lbs in 5 weeks..plus my knee and back are starting to feel better. 3 Quote

He's optimistic - beyond 36hrs is 'educated guess'...beyond 72 hours is dart-throwing. That's from my dad who was a meteorologist in the Navy. Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted January 25, 2022 Super User Posted January 25, 2022 Our luck is about to change on Friday night. We're looking to get clobbered with snow depending on the track of the storm coming up from the south. Quote
