It is RAW here today.  The last couple days it was near 30, but overnight we got about 2 inches of fresh snow and now the wind is howling and drifting and blowing it all over.  Plus the temperature has plummeted to single digits.

High today was 15* and I believe they said the high for tomorrow will happen at midnight tonight. Winter in the midwest. We were lucky thru the end of Dec. with warmer than normal temps.

Cold up this way too  -10

Tank & Kya both went down like they got hit by a sniper.

(love saying that)

I was a full blown 5 layers this morning.

The malamutes could care less.

At least the daytime UV index is low

After a one day reprieve, temperatures will crash again Sunday into Monday.

Highs will only be a few degrees either side of 10 above on Monday, with widespread single digit or sub-zero wind chills through Monday night

No photo description available.

This is when we 'earn' the summer.

One day of warm-up before some cold again, yesterday's high was 6 - already it's 20.

Tomorrow and Monday - single digits

Then it's back to 20s and even 30s for the rest of the week.

The national weather service issued an apology for my region after the snowmaggedon petered out. You can’t make this stuff up!!!

Their future forecast is sunny with a chance of smallmouth. Hopefully this time they are correct

It's amazing that he died like 15 years ago and he had his best stuff in the 70's & 80's, yet he's so repeatable to this day.

I wish you guys in the mid-west would keep the frigid temps to yourselves. I know you're very giving people, but this is one time you could be a little selfish?

My, my, it's cold today.

Talking a potential winter storm here on Friday into Saturday.  Models have it moving south and east with the Twin Cities on the eastern edge of it.

@DitchPanda I think you may be in the bullseye.  The area near Sioux Falls, SD and northwest Iowa could see up to a foot of snow.

A foot sounds good right about now.

How about I trade you some cold for some snow ?

At least you won't have to shovel the cold

After a brief reprieve for midweek, a cold air mass looks to settle into the Great Lakes for the end of the week.

Wind chills will be -10 to -30F Thursday and Friday night, with Friday night/Saturday morning being the coldest.

After the past few brutally cold days and not thawing out until about 3 hours before I go to bed, I really enjoyed the nice sunny at times 40* day today. I hadn’t looked at the forecast for a few days after seeing today’s forecast which means, I hadn’t looked at the forecast after today.

Thanks for the slap in the face @A-Jay

I sure did too. It’s been bitter cold here for over a week so an afternoon with some thawing felt real good. I can actually see the tar on the road again today too.
