Way north bass guy Posted October 31, 2021 Author Posted October 31, 2021 With the big boat already put away for the winter, of course we have had some lovely, warm and dry weather here the last several days. Got the mower out one last time and gave the yard a good haircut, and mulched up all the leaves while they were nice and dry. Sure is nice at our new place for leaves, very few and they’re all pretty small so I can mulch em all up in one pass. Take that, stupid leaf rake! 2 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted November 1, 2021 Super User Posted November 1, 2021 Not really a surprise ~ Just a heads up: lake effect snow is on the horizon for the upcoming week, especially inland over A-Jay's house, as well as portions of eastern upper Michigan. Some generally accumulations are expected. Here we go. A-Jay 1 Quote

But at least there's an end to it after all the leaves have fallen. I mulch most of mine too but one area is really matted from a large maple on the property line and I have to rake and bag those. Super User Bird Posted November 1, 2021 Super User Posted November 1, 2021 Just finished draining all the garden hoses and winterizing the RV. Lol Away to deer camp for 2 weeks and if weather permits, back on the water in December but have to at least have mid day temps into the 50's.......not impossible here. Quote
Super User TOXIC Posted November 1, 2021 Super User Posted November 1, 2021 Thank heavens we have the hot side of lake Anna to take us through the winter. As long as we can get there we can fish it. There’s just something magical about throwing a top water in a snowstorm. ? 1 Quote

I'll see what I can do ~ No promises though. On a good timing note, I emptied out & clean up the storage compartments in the Lund today. Heading to the dealer after this mess blows through. ProXS is getting the 3 year and hull is getting new trolling motor batteries. Cha-Ching ! A-Jay 1 Quote

We stay off the hot side until it gets too cold for our regular water. When I was guiding on the public/cold side (I only guided homeowners that lived on the private/hot side) I would have the marina break the skim ice in a path so I could get to the main lake. ?? 1 Quote

Way north bass guy Posted November 2, 2021 Author Posted November 2, 2021 Woke up to the first actual snow on the ground today. It was all gone by about 1:00 when the sun came out. As a bass fisherman, it isn’t a nice sight, but as a deer hunter, it was a lovely thing to see. If it only showed up for two weeks in November, then was gone for the rest of the year, that’d be just about perfect for me. 1 Quote

Our firearms opener is in 3 days and its not looking good as the forecasted highs on Sat & Sun is near 60. That's too warm. Quote

Black Hawk Basser Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Bring on the cold, I'm about ready for ice fishing. Am I the only one who ice fishes on here? Seems like almost everyone from northern climates on here don't transition to the hard water but just call it a year until ice out. Quote

I just wait it out for the open water season. Ice fishing is popular here too but I would still say most anglers here are like me. 1 Quote

A-Jay Dude!!!! Holy crap. We’ve seen a few flurries down here yesterday and I said thank you A-Jay for sending me some. Little did I know you were getting absolutely dumped on. 2 hours ago, Black Hawk Basser said: Bring on the cold, I'm about ready for ice fishing. Am I the only one who ice fishes on here? I am not a fan of sitting on an ice cube fishing through a hole freezing my arse off. 1 Quote
