I could make it worse too.  I grabbed my boat from the farm on Easter...and put the snowmobiles away.  That normally brings endless winter.

I think some of us (especially in the north) have already forgotten that last summer and fall were the warmest on record. Winter never even showed up until almost Christmas.

I think we have short memories by design in order to survive the winter! Lol

Once it gets hot and humid we wish for cooler weather because we forgot how cold the winters are. After mid January (for me anyways) I wish for warmer weather forgetting how hot and humid summer is. ?

The local news is predicting that the lakes in far northern MN will still have ice come "opener" which is May 14 here.  The arrowhead region is still completely locked up in 2 feet of snow, and more is coming tomorrow.  It could legitimately be Memorial Day before its open water up there, unless something earth-shattering occurs weather wise.

The good news is that all of the feeder creeks and streams going into Lake Superior are back flowing with ferocity.  Some of them completely dried up last season.

I am amazed that it is still snowing and there are frozen lakes in many Northern states at this moment in time. A cold front passed so it feels like Spring now in South Florida with daytime temperatures in the low 80's and nighttime temperatures in the 70's. I am expecting a hotter than normal Summer this year since we already had temperatures in the high 80's in the beginning of April.

With something close to 1,500 miles between us,

Might not be not that hard to imagine.

@A-Jay I already know that, but I am still amazed it is snowing and there are frozen lakes in late April in many Northern states. I am sure you are waiting patiently for the snow to go away and when it does I am sure you will catch lots of smallmouth bass like you usually do.
