Got the vehicles block heaters plugged in tonight. First thing tomorrow morning here it’s supposed to be -30 with a wind chill of -39. Pretty sure it’s gonna be a quick trip outside to pee for the hounds in the morning.

We're not getting that cold...dropping to -19 tonight with wind chills hovering around -31

Then we zoom up to +22 tomorrow with some snow.

Artic Blast over this way as well.

Very cold wind chills are expected tonight into Wednesday morning across upper Michigan.

Wind chills may drop to 30 below or colder.

We will be sure to limit any time we (and the dogs) spend outdoors.

Our luck is about to change on Friday night. We're looking to get clobbered with snow depending on the track of the storm coming up from the south.

I need to become a meteorologist in my next lifetime. They come up with the coolest descriptions for storms. The nor'easter that we're supposed to get is now being described as a bomb cyclone. :ok-wink:

Formerly, the forecast was for snow

then they started calling them snow events and melting events

the latest trend is calling them “disturbances,” I find it disturbing

Good one ~

That's going to be tough to beat.

I'll admit, I do prefer if you do win it all.

Those are the temps where stuff will break & Fail just because it's that cold.

Hate that.

Sure seems that way...I know I've experienced colder winters here (been in this house since 1986), but I can't remember exactly when.

This year is the coldest I have seen in South Florida in over 5 years. There is a chance the temperature might drop in the mid 30's this weekend which is extremely rare. I can only imagine how cold it must be up north for South Florida to have temperatures in the 30's.

I remember 2010 was one the coldest years in South Florida and many other parts of the country. During this time I remember seeing ice on my car in the morning, that is something you rarely see in South Florida.
