Super User A-Jay Posted January 13, 2022 Super User Posted January 13, 2022 OK this is not funny any more and getting serious now. Very cold wind chills will return to northern Michigan starting tonight behind an Arctic front. Wind chills may plummet to 30 below zero or colder across parts of eastern upper. But it's not new A-Jay 1 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted January 13, 2022 Super User Posted January 13, 2022 Do all the dogs come in at that point? Please forgive me, I know you have a kennel but don't know if it's heated. ? 1 Quote

Yes they do - In the winter the inside of the kennel stays @ 20 degrees warmer than the outside ambient temp most of the time. And while the dog houses inside each run are insulated, heated, and sitting on 1 inch thick rubber horse mats, (pic below) big winds can cool it down a little bit more. So we bring them in. It's the one time they actually like staying in the house. They use the puppy room downstairs, which they completely fill up. A-Jay 2 Quote

Dangerously cold wind chills of 30 below zero or colder are expected again across eastern upper this morning. Wind chills of ten to twenty below zero are anticipated for those across northern lower. Way north bass guy Posted January 16, 2022 Author Posted January 16, 2022 Having pretty much the same weather all weekend as @A-Jay, it was mostly an inside weekend. It did warm up to a tolerable level this afternoon though, so the kid and I got the sleds out on the lake. As a newly licensed driver ( at 12 here you can get your snowmobile licence), this was his first solo run on a lake, and the conditions were perfect for practising turns, leaning and some more speedier runs than in the fields. Only about 4 more months till we can be out on this same lake in the boat ( 4 very, very long months ?). 3 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted January 16, 2022 Super User Posted January 16, 2022 Dang. SMH. I was cold today here with 30+ winds and it was high 50s. We’re actually getting some winter weather this week. Looks like we may even get a freeze, lol. On 1/13/2022 at 7:00 AM, A-Jay said: OK this is not funny any more and getting serious now. Send me his address and I’ll act all crazy, twitch a little, and tell him not to turn out like the rest of us Michiganders! I’ll plead with him to go back before it’s too late. If he spends too many warmer months up here, it will be too late! 1 3 Quote
