F1SH Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 Just ordered a spool of power pro and upon receiving noticed the line was a very light green unlike the typical dark green I get. Anyone have this happen to them before? Just a lighter colored batch? Quote
Super User Bankc Posted October 20, 2021 Super User Posted October 20, 2021 I'd probably send it back. I'd be worried it was either used, a fake product, or a factory defect that extended beyond just the color. 1 Quote
Super User FishTank Posted October 20, 2021 Super User Posted October 20, 2021 Is it the Hi Vis Yellow? Scan the barcode. You can use Amazon's app or there are several others that will direct to what product it's supposed to be. Quote

In my twenty years of using power pro I’ve never seen this. I just took your advice and scanned the barcode on Amazon and it came up as power pro. Quote
Super User ATA Posted October 21, 2021 Super User Posted October 21, 2021 it should be dark moss green. 1 Quote

I used it for a long time and have since moved on to other lines but it's still good stuff. I have never seen a color issue with it before though. I would reach out to the guys at Power Pro and see what they have to say. They were helpful with some counterfeit line I bought from a big box store years ago. I still can't believe to this day it was on their shelf and they still probably will deny I bought it there. Quote
Captain Phil Posted October 21, 2021 Posted October 21, 2021 Power Pro starts out dark green, then lightens slightly with age. I have never seen "very light green" Power Pro. Could be something new (hope not), or a different SKU. If it's in a Power Pro Box, I doubt it's counterfeit. Maybe a weird dye lot? Quote
RPjet Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 Are you sure you didn't buy the Aqua Green that is listed on the Amazon site? 1 Quote
thediscochef Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 I'd contact the manufacturer, they usually like to handle these kinds of things. Quote
Fishingmickey Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 Maybe miss packaged at the factory? Does the label on the spool match the box? FM Quote
The Maestro Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 The original Super Slick Power Pro was a very light green. The updated V2 Super Slick is darker but still a bit lighter than original Power Pro. Quote
F1SH Posted October 22, 2021 Author Posted October 22, 2021 This was original power pro in a very light green. I’ve been fishing power pro for the last twenty years and never encountered it before I ended up getting another spool which was normal and will be contacting power pro and see what they have to say about it Quote

Perhaps it’s an albino of the typical moss green. I believe contacting them is the right thing to do. Who know, it just might a winning spool, perhaps the 10 billionth power pro spool sold and as the reward, they’ll give you power pro for life, lol. Quote
