Super User DogBone_384 Posted October 19, 2021 Super User Posted October 19, 2021 Megabass Vision 110 jerkbait. I've never fished Texas, so color choice and diving depth is up to you... Best of luck! 1 Quote
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted October 19, 2021 Super User Posted October 19, 2021 I'll go with the hottest lure for me right now if we are talking strictly lures. Booyah Covert Double Indiana spinnerbait. Color is up to you, I fish the white one. I seriously have thrown that bait like 85% of the time my last several times out. It's a fish catcher for me. Fish it slow, a low gear ratio helps. Quote
detroit1 Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 Buy something that you don't already have, for a technique that you've never tried. 1 Quote

newriverfisherman1953 Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 Well if I had $50 to spend on something, I’d buy whatever I wanted. Not what someone else wanted. Fish with what you have and treat yourself to a victory dinner after a good trip. Good luck. 1 Quote

Super User GaryH Posted October 19, 2021 Super User Posted October 19, 2021 Assorted different colors and weights of mega bass dark sleepers. I fished a 2 day tournament in east Texas on Fork and they were the only trick to get us paid enough for the trip. Quote

I have one pack for larger sized worms. maybe when I can stop throwing spinnerbaits I’ll take the time to learn the good old jig head worm Quote
papajoe222 Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 Get yourself a variety of Siebert jigs. He'll even make recommendations as to ones that would be best for how/where you fish. You have options beyond color and weight. You can't match the quality of his jigs with any mass produced ones. Check it out. 2 Quote

I’m in west Texas and swim jigs/arkie style that you fish just about any way you want work well. Especially in dirty water. I’ve never had much success with football unless losing it counts. Quote

But if you have a decent spinning combo, you should take $10 of that and: 1. get a zman chatterbait micro, either black or chartreuse 2. little box of bass pro split tail 3" stick-o in Summergill. 3. Rig it with fins vertical and get rid of the skirt. 4. Enjoy catching largemouth. 1 Quote
