As I've mentioned before, I've started a rewiring and updating project on my 16' X 55" river fishing rig. I've moved the T/M battery just forward of mid-ship. All the videos I've watched on installing a 60 amp breaker suggested installing the breaker in the same compartment as the t/m battery. Is that an absolute? I can do it, but it will be really tight. I'm thinking about installing the breaker closer to the t/m. Will this be an issue?

I would put it close to the battery if possible. It will give all the wiring and trolling motor protection in case anything shorted out.

As close to the battery as is possible is much preferred.

Like in home circuits - are the breakers near the appliances/outlets or are they at the source (where it enters the home).
