Although discussed in the past , with more water time under your belt what is your experience and preference  with : Silver , Red , Gold , Copper , Black , Purple , White and Chartreuse color buzz bait blade colors ?  My take is as follows :

  1. Black Blade / Black Skirt  : Night and any time of day or water clarity usage
  2. Silver Blade / White Skirt  : Day time use in slightly stained water ; shad runs ; Fall (where shad are present)
  3. White Blade / White Skirt : Same as above - except clear water conditions
  4. Gold Blade / Black Skirt / White Skirt Chartreuse / White Skirt : Day time over cast and / or stained water conditions
  5. Copper Blade : Substitute for Gold Blade above
  6. Chartreuse Blade : Substitute for Gold or Copper Blades
  7. Red Blade : Bobby U's "secret flared gills" Color Blade : Use on Black / White skirt buzz baits
  8. Purple Blade : Black Skirt : Substitute for Black Blade above

I just use the unpainted  alum blade .

Along with gold or black in any water clarity, day or night, any time of the year.

My buzzbait choices are very simple. These are the only three I carry and they have served me well.

Black Blade/Black Skirt

Gold Blade/White Skirt

Anodized Green Blade/Chartreuse Skirt

Silver blade white skirt most of the time except night then its black on black. Honestly I have used gold and painted blades in the past and it didn't seem to make a difference. White skirt with a Deliverance squeel is what matters most IMO.

Sorry, thought of skirt colors.

Blade colors: Silver or Gold.

Never have seen the red have more hits.

Depending on the cloud cover, go with silver for blue bird skies and some clouds and gold for overcast and raining days.

I fish black skirt/toad-style trailer 95% of the time. Gold or red blade.

White skirt/toad the other times. Usually silver blade.

I honestly don't think blade color makes one bit of a difference, though. It's more about the commotion and the color of the skirt/trailer.

Black / Black , Gold / Black , Gold / White and then Silver blade color with any skirt color seem to be the most popular ... While it may not produce an equal outcome - I had recent success with a willow leaf spinner bait painted white with a white skirt .  I'll try painting one of my silver blade buzz baits white  / white skirt for clear water to tone down the flash .

I have honestly never seen buzz-bait blades in any color but aluminum. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough...

I have the following skirts -- black, white, chartreuse, white-chartreuse.

Seems to suit my needs.

I have them in many colors and have caught pond bass on black, chartreuse, and colors that are way more complicated than necessary to catch fish.

I have caught them on all colors and virtually all times.

I would be perfectly happy to have only black with black or silver blades for any and all conditions.

I have one gold blade buzzbait that works real well . Not because of the color but because it squeals like the dickens .

If there's a color that matters less in fishing than the blade of a buzzbait I don't know it.

The only color buzzbait I fish with is one with a white skirt / white blade.  If I can't find a bait with a white blade then I'll paint it white.

Black/Black

White/Gold

Black/Red

White/Red

I don't get too hung up on the blade color but the skirt is going to be white or black.

Blade dyed pink + pink skirt for smallmouth was the best buzzbait bite I have ever been on. Now if smallmouth are present you can guarantee I am throwing a pink buzzbait. Never seen anyone else throw one, but boy does it get wrecked by big brown ones.

*Interesting ... In a similar fashion - spotted bass are attracted to chartreuse , so I may experiment with spray painting a blade this color with a matching skirt .

I guess I’m boring. Either black or white.

This.

Although I have more confidence in a red blade than any other buzzbait blade color.
