Just idly scanning Falcon Expert rods. They have a 7'-08" Medium Heavy that's SLOW action. I haven't used a slow action rod for over 50 years, and when I did, it was a cheap fly rod and definitely not a MH casting rod.

What is the intended use for this rod?  Thnx.             jj

I was always told slow action is for smaller fish to make it feel like you have a giant fish. ?‍♂️

I know the only slow action rod I ever used felt like trying to pull something out of a quicksand.

It's probably for trolling.

White bass, whipers and stripers, for sure.  Trolling is big with them.

Lots of people troll for black bass as well.  It's not popular, because it's not legal in tournaments.  But it works and is an art unto itself.  I do it because it sure beats doing nothing when I'm trying to cross a mile or more of water in my kayak at a 3mph top speed.  Though I don't bring along rods specifically for trolling.

Toledo Bend was know as the Mudbug capital of the world.

Trolling the outside tree lines with Arbogast's Mud Bug.
