sculpinman Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 What’s the best color for small bass? There’s a lake next to me with clear but a tiny bit stained water. It’s very visible you can all the way to the bottom but is stained but dust and sand. I love catching those small baby bass so what’s the best color? Quote
ike8120 Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 Go to the Panther Martin website go to the guides and there, click on the bass guide. There is some very useful information there. Also you can request the 2022 catalog. I bought this one. Quote
spokey9 Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 Can't beat the classic black body/gold blade...I haven't found many fish that wouldn't hit one... Quote
billmac Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 Honestly I doubt it matters that much. Pick one that looks good to you, and that will be fine. I've fished inline spinners my whole life, Shysters, Mepps, Roostertails, Panther Martins. I've never noticed that fish seem to have a preference. Plus, small bass are dumb. It won't matter. The only trouble you may have is getting the bait down to the bottom, depending on how deep you need to fish. Inlines aren't ideal deep water lures, but it can be done. Quote
Wprich Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 I like gold blade like the yellow body with red dots on sunny days or stained water and silver blade on overcast days like the pure silver panther martin. Quote

I use the 1/2 oz. red from their Salmon and Steelhead family. I always thought it imitated a craw. Don't know for sure, but it catches'em. Quote
