From an earlier post I talk about not cleaning my reels any longer. (The drag doesn’t click) I was given great advice about cleaning and how to fix the problem. I gave it another try and just gave up. So I plan to send it off, now who should I send it to??? Our sponsor DVT or Lews? The reel is a Lews  tournament mb. So what would you do? Thanks for your input and have a blessed day.

I seriously doubt Lew's would honor the warranty since you opened up the reel.  No idea what they charge.  DVT gives a 10% discount to bassresource members.  Personally I'd support a sponsor.  Mike does good work.

DVT may be able to turn the work around quicker.

While I would never disparage DVT, Lew's has a way of doing the work gratis or maybe just sending you a new reel, expired warranty notwithstanding.

DVT has a great rep here and has helped me more than once but I would contact Lew's first.  They too have had a great customer service record.  Often going to great lengths to help keep customers happy.

I'm not the biggest fan of Lew's but they have always went by above and beyond with the things I requested. Took a little while but they have never let me down. I even lost a side plate and they just sent me one. I even offered to pay for it but Lew's does have the best customer care.

Mike @ DVT gets my vote. He’s A++.

DVT, no question. The reel will be better than new when you get it back.

Substantially.

you’re just wasting time at this point…?

The advantage of using the manufacturer would be if they’d warranty it. Mechanically, there’s nothing either of us can do that the other can’t. If I can help, I’m easy to find.
