Super User king fisher Posted September 26, 2021 Super User Posted September 26, 2021 Does any one use double blade buzz baits? Where, when, why instead of single blade? How well do they cast compared to single? What make, model ,and size? Thanks. 2 Quote
moguy1973 Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 I don't use them, but from what I've seen one blade spins one way and the other the opposite way. Makes them track straight. I'm sure they don't cast well as a single blade buzzbait doesn't usually cast well. 1 Quote
volzfan59 Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 I've got four double buzzers. They are called "Double Trouble" and were made by a mom and pop company in middle TN. They came in 1/2 and 3/8 ounce. Mine are the 3/8 oz. I've had them since the mid 80's so they probably don't exist anymore. I use them anywhere I would use a single buzzer. To me, the beauty of a double buzzer is you can fish them much slower than a single. Sometimes that's a benefit, sometimes it's not. I love to fish them slow around wood or rock, hitting the cover. As far as casting, never been an issue for me. I've never tried the Strike King, or any other brand. 1 Quote
Super User WRB Posted September 26, 2021 Super User Posted September 26, 2021 Picasso makes a good double buzzer. I preferred a double over a single where I fish that has Threadfin Shad populations. The double throws a lot of spray and a slower retrieve speed attracting big bass. I sold everything last year including a custom made double buzzer otherwise I would send it you. Tom 2 1 Quote
papajoe222 Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 The only double bladed buzzers I use are the inline ones. The commotion isn't quite as profound as a twin spin, but they are much easier to cast and I've yet to miss a fish that blew up on one. Twin blades, I haven't thrown one in five or six years. 1 Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 27, 2021 Super User Posted September 27, 2021 Ya got 3 options ? I personally prefer the Santone Lures Pretender Double Buzz. The top photo Added commotion, cast fine for a buzzbait 1 Quote
