Justbass11 Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 I own 3 Lews Tournament MB reels, I clean one and it fine, finish the 2nd one and now the drag doesn’t click. Its a little frustrating to say the least. Any advice is appreciated. Ps there are no extra parts left over 1 Quote

Super User FishTank Posted September 22, 2021 Super User Posted September 22, 2021 Just check that the drag clicker washer isn't turned over the wrong direction. 1 1 Quote

Super User new2BC4bass Posted September 22, 2021 Super User Posted September 22, 2021 Yeah it gets expensive sending them out, but I don't like to tinker so...... Did you take pictures as you disassembled the reel? As FishTank stated, it is my understanding that some washers only go in one way. Quote
Phil77 Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Always keep the reel schematic next to your work area. If you don't have the original you can download one. 1 Quote
Super User T-Billy Posted September 22, 2021 Super User Posted September 22, 2021 When disassembling lay out parts in the order you removed them, facing the way they came out. Assemble in reverse order. + All the above tips. 1 Quote

garroyo130 Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Highly recommend a junker baitcaster to experiment with. Basic design is pretty much the same but taking it apart and putting it back together you WILL make mistakes initially and its a safer way to learn. 1 Quote
tim_kovar Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 I tried a complete tear down a couple times in the past and ended up in the same sort of boat as you. There are some parts that have to go back in a specific way so it is really key to lay them out exactly as you take them off when disassembling. I now just do the basic maintenance a couple times a year to all the bearings and parts easily accessible on the opposite side of the handle side and leave the deep cleaning, brakes...etc. to someone who knows better with what they are doing every few years. 1 Quote

Justbass11 Posted September 28, 2021 Author Posted September 28, 2021 Update: I cleaned another reel with no problem. Took photos and was a breeze. I tried the other reel that the drag doesn’t click and still know luck. Quote

You probably dropped em while taking your drag star off, and didn't realize it. 1 Quote
