Your profile says your PB is over 15 pounds. Tell me what the best bass rod is, please!

Could have been a catfish.  My PB is 35 pounds.  A carp.

Your 1000 size spinning reel is good combo with the Colt rod you choose. My Suggestion is spool it with 5 lb Maxima Ultra Green Copolymer line.

How about 10 pound moss green braid?

I'm getting power pro.

10# braid is good on a spinner

I've got 10# on a 1000 size, 20# on a 3000 size

I'd go with an 8-carrier braid like Sufix 832 over a 4-carrier braid like Power Pro.

Not a fan of PP braid, not color fast and frays.

Fins Sling Braid 8 carrier, smooth , quite ,color fast and stronger plus smaller dia per # test.

Seaguar Smack Down would be a 2nd choice.

15 lb is .008, same as Max UG 5 lb Copolymer.

SoCal clear lakes you may need a leader.
