FordsnFishin Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 One of the clubs I fish is just a small good ol boy clubs. We typically have 15-20 boats. However one of the main lakes we fish is now requiring clubs to have insurance even though everyone individually already has their personal insurance. From what research we've done it looks like it'll cost us around $600 a year. This is a big expense for a small club. Curious if anyone has ran into this problem? Anybody know of a cheaper way to go about it? What are others paying? Thanks Quote
Ski Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 Never have I heard of such a thing... who governs the lake and how do they know if a club has insurance? Oure club here in Fl mandates that every boat owner carries a liability plan but that protects the boater. Government over-reach Quote

Government over-reach The city owns the lake, unfortunately. They govern the rules. Drove off many clubs that fished it. They also recently took away the daily pass and upped the yearly fee by 15%. Really pushing people away. Shame because this was always the "sister" lake of the club for 20 years. First year we haven't fished it. Quote

Insurance was required and the tourney director would have to factor the cost into the payout. Quote
