My most productive spinnerbait has been eaten too many times. While I keep bending it back into shape it just isn't the same since yesterday's pickerel bent it to holy hell. I've searched spinnerbait images to no avail. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Weighs 3/4oz, gold willow with a purple colorado. Pics don't really capture the skirt but it's a very dark blue gillish pattern, wire-tied.

If I've left anything out or can elaborate in any other way please let me know. Thanks!

Sorry for not having an answer but nice pattern. I’m sure the dudes on here that make jigs and spinnerbaits could make that up for you exactly. Like the gold with purple blade on it.

Not sure which one that is, but what I would do (or more accurately have done) is to find a body of the same weight and wire dimensions (both lengths and gauge) and slide those blades and hardware on it, and do the skirt while you are at it. Now you can experiment and find out what about that bait worked for you. I find with spinnerbaits, the blade combination (type, size, and spacing), and dimensions are usually what makes the difference. I have a set of blades that have probably been through 20 or more bodies that catches better than most, but when I get close, it works. Confidence in what a bait is doing is much better than confidence in a "magic" bait, and that applies to all types, but spinnerbaits lend themselves to tweeking.

I'm considering kidnapping Munkin, and chaining him to a melting pot Jesse Pinkman style, while he "cooks product" for me... :)

I appreciate your perspective, one I haven't considered. I will most likely start down this road over the weekend. Thank you!

Hey, thanks for the idea! Didn't consider a custom. What's a custom spinnerbait run in these neck of the woods? I'm a total neophyte in the tackle-making realm.

If it's similar to retail right on. But I'm not crazy about dropping two or three times that.

Thanks LrgmouthShad! Picked it up as a mixed lot. Wish I knew more about it

Formatting stinks on this post. My apologies!

Its going to break . My suggestion is to but some 3/4 ounce premade forms  , clip the wire and transfer the blades and beads . If the skirt is tied on buy some skirts too . They dont have to be exact . Or buy a mold and pour your own . I retire my spinnerbaits after about thirty bass and transfer the blades to new baits . I have a set of blades that have caught several hundred bass and have been on numerous new lures .

Sorry , I just suggested the same thing as @BassWhole!

You've grabbed the pebble from the hand, and now you must move the kettle and earn the dragon and tiger "tattoos" on the way out of the temple grasshopper...

Highly doubt that is a factory made spinnerbait. Green pumpkin head color says Cast Industries but they use a darker orange. Good news is it can be recreated. Can you post close up pictures of the head along with the rear behind the skirt? Also need to see what the rear blade looks like.

You bet.

I took some with flash and others without. I picked the best ones of the bunch. I included close ups of the head, backsides of blades, hook/bait-keeper close-up, and included as best I could the wire-tie.

The closeup of the head needs more resizing. I'll edit to add it.

Send the photos to Nichols Lures, they make excellent custom spinning baits.

Tom

PS, it could be a 1/2 oz before adding the skirt and blades.

Just perused their catalog. Their style V spinnerbait head is spot on to mine. Not sure if that's a generic mold in the industry and this is insignificant, or were onto something... ?

Realistic heads, eyes, gills, and paint jobs are for fishermen, not fish.

Site sponsor Siebert Outdoirs makes custom spinnerbaits and can duplicate what you have....eyes and all.

Cast Industries makes their own heads so buying from them unpainted makes the most sense.  We just need need to figure out frame size and diameter along with hook size first.  The purple front blade is made by Worth and based on size ratio to the bait a size 3 Colorado.  Rear blade question? Is it just beat to hell or does it have a colored flake clear coat on it? Head is painted watermelon with a Createx orange pearl throat and large pupil gold eyes either 5 or 6mm. Skirt I recognize some of the colors but would have to see it in hand to be exact .

Can you tell yet I know a thing or two about spinnerbaits? Best thing would be for you to send me one? Does not have to be in one piece I would just need all the pieces.  I know its your favorite so if you only have one just send it to me during the winter and I will return it after taking some measurements  and photos.

6th Sense has some skirts that are really close, like  Backwater special, Green Pumpkin Jelly,  Blue Gill Magic and a few others.

Nice! I am really liking the blue gill magic & green pumpkin jelly. Never thought to look at their lure making section. Many thanks for this!

Wow! I don't know what to say mostly because thanks seems so insufficient. This community in fantastic and folks like you are the glue holding things together. I will most likely take you up on that offer, for sure. Thank you Allen!

No kidding? Earlier in the year I was checking out the member map and was a little disappointed there are so few of us in this area (active members). Its nice to see a fellow Jerseyian on here, on my post nonetheless!!!

Alcyon has been super productive for me this year. Not sure if you fish menantico ponds, but that opened up this past weekend. I skipped it figuring that it would be madhouse. Planning on it this weekend though. What is your body of water?
