I'm looking for a good chatterbait rod in the $125-175 range.  I'd prefer it to be less than 7 feet, but I've figured out 6'6" is too short.  Fast action is preferred just to keep some versatility, but it will be 95% chatterbaits.  I'm currently using a 6'9" MH Fast action Abu Garcia Vendetta- it's actually been an awesome setup for fishing chatterbaits but wanting to see if I can find something a bit lighter and more sensitive.

I have Daiwa Tatula Elite 7'4 Moderate MH Randy Howell edition...I use it almost exclusively for chatterbaits and swim jigs. Really love the rod, action, and total package.

Are you still using the Quantum rod for Chatterbaits? I don’t think they make them anymore.

I am.

Lews seems to have a line of KVD compsite rods that may be very similar .

I use the 7'4" MH

Is your Quantum only rated up to 1/2 oz too? If so I'm assuming the rod handles your bladed jig fishing just fine, but how does it feel? Do you feel overloaded? A 3/8 oz bladed jig + trailer has to be at least 3/4 oz.

I think so -

But it's capable of handing any horizontal moving bait I'd normally fish on any other MH stick.

In fact I throw 3/4 & 1 oz spinnerbait rather nicely.

Lots of differing opinions on such a simple question.

All I can add is for you to 1) do your research on bait specific rods in the marketplace or 2) go with a graphite crankbait rod.

I am sure that whatever you select will do fine.
