Do short-arm spinnerbaits have a better hook-up percentage on deep retrieves than long-arm spinnerbaits on a deep retrieve? I'm not talking about slow-rolling on the bottom ..... just normal speed but on a deep retrieve.

   Thnx.   jj

I don't know.   I don't fish spinner baits deep very often at all - seldom deeper than 6 feet or so.  I use the old Jimmy Houston method of determining spinner bait depth most of the time, i.e - if you can see the bait real well during the retrieve, you're too shallow and if you can't see the bait at all during the retrieve you're too deep.

I’ve gone to an “Over-Spin” to get deeper with Spinners instead of the big, high-torque spinnerbait. 1/2 oz and seems to get down and stay down better without the tedious ultra-slow roll...
