Depends on the depth and cover you fish. If you fish shallow and dont encounter many snags the 70 would do well. If your fishing deep and around heavy cover I would suggest the 150 for more line capacity to deal with break offs.

Hadn’t even considered that so thank you.

If you’re worried about having to retie a lot you would want to go with the smaller spool size. In either case, when you lose line off your reel you’re gonna want to replace the spool so you get the correct amount of line back in per handle turn. This is going to occur at the same rate for both reels, but when you have to replace the line on a smaller spool you don’t have to use as much.

Sorry if I’m just hashing up old news but I came across this while looking into these reels.

I wound up with the 150 and didn’t even use it on my jig rod. I put it on my frog rod which does double as a big jig rod I suppose.

Believe it or not, the 150 is lighter. It also has 13lbs of drag versus 11lbs.

Lighter than the 70? If so that’s crazy. And ya the higher drag and the bigger handle on the higher speed is what made me put it on my frog rod.

It also depends on line size. If you are using 16# fluorocarbon, the 70 is fine, I think it holds about 70 yards. If you are using 20# you might want a slightly larger spool.

Local tackle shop had both and the 150 was lighter. I can't understand it, which is why I bought the 150. It's everything a Curado should be the most versatile reel in your locker.
