Just found out my wife has skin cancer. They are supposed to cut it off in october. We’re concerned because we don’t know if its spread. They moved like sloths to ever get her in to get a sample of it in the first place . Now, another 6 weeks waiting to have it removed. It is the squama ? kind.

Sorry for those suffering with it. Offering my prayers for Aron and others affected by it…

Thoughts and prayers Mike.

I was not aware of this news about Aaron and appreciate you posting. Prayer is very powerful and I have seen it work wonders. Prayers for Mikes' wife, Aaron, and peace/comfort for Tom. Don't ever count Christ out on any fight.

Adding my prayers for him and those also fighting cancer. Aaron was the pro angler who led me to try the drop shot and I’ll forever be grateful for that.

If there is one thing I hate, it’s cancer. It claimed my mother’s life way back in my teen years. She battled it like a champ and was blessed to live longer than the doctor estimated.

Yeah this really sucks. Aaron has always been one of my favorites... He had a unique combination of instinct and at the same time a very educated cerebral approach. He understands bass on a level most of us can only dream of. Not only that but he has always just seemed like a genuine nice guy. I'm still pulling for him as I'm a believer that anything can happen but this is definitely not positive news.

It is heart broken, I always pray for him.

Thoughts and prayers are useless, does anyone know a link or site to send some money to him and his family, I would like to do that, any serious illness does put a financial strain on families, even well off ones.

God is the only one with the power to heal Aaron

If you believe in that sort of thing...some of us don't.

There's a reason Religion is a forbidden topic on this board.

From what I understand of what Glenn has posted it seems that no amount of money or medicine is going to save Aaron now.  Only thing you can do is send thoughts and pray for a miracle, which is what they're asking for.

Ok guys this is getting dangerously close to lockdown I fear because of the religious based bickering and picking back and forth. We all can agree I believe that we are at the very least thinking of and hoping for something miraculous for Aaron. I would hate to see a good cause like this get shut down by a mod because of belief pushing. Time to park egos at the door and join each other in what we are all here for..supporting Aaron and his family in this trying time.

Not disagreeing, but they are asking for money too.

I wouldn't have known about the GoFundMe if the poster in question hadn't mentioned it. I can say with certainty that doctors do heal people, and that they cost money. Giving money seems like a practical way of helping to me.

I lost my step mother a few years ago to cancer. None of it helped.

This is so sad to hear.

About 1.5 weeks ago, I buried a best friend of 39 years due to cancer.

My thoughts and prayers are with Aaron and his family.

I lost my Dad in 2017 to Glioblastoma Multiform (GBM) which is the same aggressive form of brain cancer Aaron has.  I know the pain his family is going through.  Unlike other forms of cancer, GBM causes the loss of brain tissue which has a detrimental effect on the patient.  As the disease runs it's course, the patient goes through a series of mood, personality, and memory changes as the cancer eats away at the brain tissue.  The patient literally will become a shell of their former self.  The only way to slow down the disease is through brain surgery to cut out the tumor (which also removes the brain tissue of the affected area, causing irreversible damage) and then oral chemotherapy.  Temodar is the most common form of chemo because it is the most affordable...at $12,000/month.  Another oral chemo treatment (Avastin) is available but it was $27,000/month when my Dad was battling it.  Because of the elevated cost, most insurance companies will only cover Temodar...but my Mom still had to cover a $2,500 deductible payment.   I say all of this to show that this particular battle is tougher than most realize...and any form of help should be appreciated.  I've been following Aaron's story since I first heard of his diagnosis in May of 2020.  There have been numerous opportunities through his sponsors to help his family out and I was happy to participate in several of those opportunities.  The fact that he has fought this battle for almost 18 months speaks wonders (my Dad only lasted 9 months after diagnosis).  But I feel for his family, especially his children who have to watch the changes that take place in their father as he battles.  I know the impact it had on me, and I was in my mid-30's as my Dad fought his battle...I couldn't imagine being a teenager going through a similar situation.

I wasn’t a tournament angler during the time period Aaron was a younger teen hanging around Castiac marina but he was very curious kid asking lots of questions. I remember Dick Trask launching his boat and inviting young Aaron to go out with him. Trask was a top local tournament angler using finesse split shot and dart heads. Aaron learned from the top stick about finesse bass fishing.

Aaron and his mom started winning local tournaments before he was old enough to drive a car.

The local watering hole was Action Tackle in Mission Hills and Aaron would join us along with Trask, Aaron was very shy away from fishing and talked very little other then fishing.

I remember when he said he was going to B.A.S.S. tour events. We all wished him good luck and encouraged Aaron to line up sponsors before he moved. Roboworm Worm and Megabass were his primary local sponsors and supported Aaron during his early B.A.S.S. events. We also told Aaron to spend time up on the Delta and Clear lake to learn to heavy fish cover, something we don’t have in SoCal.

Aaron learned!

Hang in there Aaron we are all praying for you.
