I have an old box of stuff. Nothing fancy. Thinking I should bolster my cranks.

any “must haves”?

I got my PB (at the time ) on a giant ridiculous looking megabass deep diver in chartreuse and green. It looked like a Villain’s team colors in a Batman movie. But it got smoked!   Fun.

What’s considered deep?  12 feet?  More?

I consider 12' as mid-depth. 20'+ I'd call deep.

Well if your talking about winter crankbaits a few come to mind. Size 5 and 7 Rapala shad raps are an absolute must. I've also been impressed with the Berkley frittside.

Rapala DT series.

6th sense Cloud 9, Norman DD 22, bomber 7 A. Are some of my favorites.

Buy two or three of many popular brands and colors. Then only buy one of another kind.  The one you only buy one of will be the one the bass like and so will the snags.

All of the above stated lures are really good answers. I’ll add another.

This is my fav.

Tight wiggle and runs fairly deep.

Also if you’re a highland reservoir guy, your wiggle warts and rock crawlers catch cold water bass.

Rapala Dt series, wiggle warts, and shad raps.

For jerkbaits, Vision 110 and a Lucky Craft 78 Pointer.

Winter time is the only time that I crank a lot. My favorites are the Berkley Frittside, 6th Sense Flat 75X, Strike King KVD HC flat side 1.5, Berkley Flicker Shad Shallow, Shad Raps, and a custom made balsa crank.

Thanks bud.  Looking forward to sending this thing down into the depths. It was shockingly large. Haha.

Nice!!! Let me know how you do that one. I have not used that color, but I do like chartreuse on deep divers. Yeah, they shouldn't name that one "Little" John. Maybe just John.

Bass will move into shallow water during winter months.  I like fishing with Mann's one minus bait, and running them parallel to the bank as much as possible.

I’m not hurting for any crankbaits but have been working my way into the 18-20 depth ranges late this season.  Not so much for a true winter fishing because my winter can be tuff below freezing and ice. I’ll probably be out tomorrow or Saturday, maybe both. Chucking it all 5 - 18 feet I guess. But when you go to buying you don’t need to go crazy buying up a bunch. Try to match your herring, shads and bluegills. Should be easy finds. Cloud 9, Strike King, Rapalas.

Just received six of these, they look great. Any tips on using these?
