Super User gim Posted September 7, 2021 Super User Posted September 7, 2021 I had a ridiculous month of August. It was significantly better than June and July combined. June and July were hot, dry, and sunny for weeks on end. The water temperature was very warm and we had almost no weather changes. As a result, we are in the worst drought since 1988 here. It was painful at times because fishing was so poor almost every time. Late in July, the pattern shifted. The water temperatures dropped some and stayed there for weeks. We had a series of low pressure fronts come through and I am positive that it turned the fish on big time. I was able to take advantage and not only put up a lot of big fish, but also caught the biggest largemouth I have in almost 3 years. Muskie fishing was also fantastic as I boated 37, 38, 39, and 40 inch tiger muskies in 3 outings. The fish were hungry and aggressive. I caught all of them in August on a faster moving lure approach. Hoping for more of this the next couple months. 22 Quote

Super User scaleface Posted September 8, 2021 Super User Posted September 8, 2021 The heat kept me off the lake for most of August . At the end there was a break in the weather and the shallow bass were wolfing down a spinnerbait . The deep bass were not so cooperative . Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted September 8, 2021 Super User Posted September 8, 2021 I'd say your August was a little better than just good. 1 Quote
