LakeWinni Posted September 5, 2021 Posted September 5, 2021 Looking for a really nice spinning rod for crankbaits, don't care about price just want the mac daddy. What's out there? Thanks Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted September 5, 2021 Super User Posted September 5, 2021 There's a number of them at TW https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/advsearch.html?type=spinrod#cat=ALLSPINROD&type=spinrod&search=args&filter_taper=MOD&filter_act=7&minprice=&maxprice=&opt_page=2&opt_sort=alphaAtoZ&opt_perpage=20 You're looking at the Moderate or Moderate-Fast rods...a Medium-Heavy or a Medium power if your cranks are smaller/lighter. Range from $50 to almost $300... 1 Quote
FishinBuck07 Posted September 5, 2021 Posted September 5, 2021 I have a Cashion Icon crankbait spinning rod that I love. I use it for 1.0 sized squarebill, and shad raps mostly! Quote
LakeWinni Posted September 5, 2021 Author Posted September 5, 2021 cool, how did you get to the filter? Where do you click and can you do it for baits to? Like show only 3-4" topwater or? Thanks! Quote

Super User jimmyjoe Posted September 5, 2021 Super User Posted September 5, 2021 There's a rod that's not on TW; it's a St. Croix spinning rod from the Legend Tournament Walleye family. Don't let the word "walleye" dissuade you; this rod is nicknamed a "deep cranker", and at that it excels. It's 7', MH/Moderate, 1/4-3/4 oz. lures and 6-12 lb. line test. Good luck! jj 5 Quote
Nelson Delaney Posted September 6, 2021 Posted September 6, 2021 St croix legend glass spinning. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted September 6, 2021 Super User Posted September 6, 2021 Another vote for the St. Croix Legend Glass. Great rods for the job. Quote

Good luck! jj Very good advice. I bought that rod to use on Erie for smallmouth jerk baits. It handled LC pointer 128 's which weigh an ounce. Very versatile rod & keeps those trebles hooked up. Also don't be afraid to look at saltwater rods to expand your search for spinning rods for freshwater applications. 2 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted September 7, 2021 Global Moderator Posted September 7, 2021 If I was getting the top of the line, I'd go with the St. Croix Legend Glass. I don't crank with a spinning rod quite enough to drop that much coin on one though, so I opted for the Falcon Bucco SR 7' M/M spinning rod. It fishes 1.0 size squarebills and shad rap style baits very nice as well as small jerkbaits. I've caught lots of good fish with it and would have no issues purchasing another. Quote
