scrutch Posted August 29, 2021 Posted August 29, 2021 After several good years of use, my Minn Kota MK 440d charger has lost one charger bank. Minn Kota says it needs replaced (well out of warranty). This charger is a tank. It weighs about 20lbs, but the reason I got this one is the footprint is small (7.5” x 11.5”) and it fits better in my boat. The new version of this charger that I want is the MK440PCL. This charger looks much smaller and lighter than the old one. Footprint is 10”x10” and it’s about HALF (yes, half!) the weight. WHY? What is the difference that makes this charger so much smaller? Pictured is the MK440D (top) MK 440PCL (bottom) Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted August 29, 2021 Super User Posted August 29, 2021 I’m guessing newer technology. Quote
scrutch Posted August 30, 2021 Author Posted August 30, 2021 I went with the mk440 pc charger. Found it at boe marine for $328.51 no tax + free shipping. I’m happy with that. Now I’ll be selling the other charger on here as a 3 bank charger. The other three still work good. Quote
