Favorite Crankbait Color

I just wanted to know what is your favorite crankbait color.

I don't know if I really have a favorite color. If I had to pick just one it would be the Louisiana Shad color in the 200 series on the old Bandit crankbaits.

I only crank with squarebills and lipless. Favorite squarebill color is chartreuse and black and favorite lipless is blue shiner.

I dont have a favorite color , so trying to think back over the years I have probably caught the most  4 lb plus fish on a bluegill pattern .

Every color, It depends where and when I am using it.  but if you tell me you only can use one crank bait forever, it will be Norman DD22 dark blue.

This one is magic, It catches fish everytime.

Don't have a single favorite color but here's my version of it. 

   There's two concepts that I follow when selecting bait color /pattern that's being presented on or near the bottom or in and or around cover.  I either want the bait to be close to or MATCH the color / shade of whatever the bottom is I'm fishing; sand, some type of green weed, leaves, whatever. 

OR  

 I’ll go with a color pattern that is WILDLY different - Like Clown.

So I want my bait to either appear like it’s trying to hide / blend in or standing out badly, and I do not prefer the middle ground.  

  In the clear waters I fish, Perch or a 'clear/glass’ perch works over darker bottoms, Ayu works in the sun over sand, and when the fish are truly suspending, I use a glass minnow, smelt type deal. 

  That kind of simplifies it a little at least.   At times a some flash is a good thing, like chrome or gold in slightly colored water, other times it may not be the best choice, like in super gin clear water.  I also believe that light level plays a significant role here as well.  Brilliant sunshine usually calls for something a little more subtle / toned down, whereas cloudy or overcast days, see me reaching for a darker  or perhaps a solid patterned bait.

I'm partial to Chartreuse/Black Back/Orange Belly, Chartreuse/Green Back/Orange Belly, and Tennessee Shad.

I can tell you that the Bandit Lures Louisiana Shad color has been extremely effective in the Henderson Swamp area for many years. I've caught some huge stringers on this lure.

I’m one who fished crankbaits a lot. A river rat who finds cranking river Smallies to be a productive way. I have to believe there are many guys who CB fish that fish various patterns and has numerous favorites. 
 

I don’t want to say color means nothing. It must to some degree. But crankbaits are a bait that draws reactionary strikes. I fish a wide variety of colors. Gizzard Shads and Herrings will generally catch me fish. I fish a few bluegills as well. I use to fish firetiger a lot. Great pattern for on the river. 
 

Two very productive patterns are a solid black and a solid olive green.

Any idea where one might buy this color?  I've looked at a lot of sources and think it may be discontinued.  One can always paint one.  Looks like a blue with glitter?  Or metallic blue?

I’ve caught bass on many color schemes associated with crankbaits. Rapala, Cotton Cordell and my home made crank and jerk baits are the only ones that seem to work best for me. 
 

I like others too but many are practically zeroes, but gosh darnet, they sure caught me. 
 

the chromes and silvers, especially with a black top, chartreuses, parrot, bass and rainbow trout schemes too. 

One other thing that I think gets overlooked because we are so accustomed to focusing on color — and that is the crankbait’s wobble. Some are wide and others are tight and others yet are somewhere in between. I have observed that bass in my lakes seem to be more receptive to those with a wider wobble, winter or not. Not sure why.
