Micaiah Freels Posted August 27, 2021 Posted August 27, 2021 What swim jig trailer brand, size and color should I use? 1 Quote
Solution Brett's_daddy Posted August 27, 2021 Solution Posted August 27, 2021 Big Bite Baits 4.5" Swimon rigged sideways. 1 Quote
Skunkmaster-k Posted August 27, 2021 Posted August 27, 2021 The rage menace is a good one. Sometimes in the summer I use a rage craw , with the flappers up and down instead of sideways. Dipping the tips in chartreuse will get you more bites on your bluegill colored swim jig as well. 1 Quote

Super User T-Billy Posted August 27, 2021 Super User Posted August 27, 2021 Either a twintail grub or a boot tail swimbait works for me. 2 Quote
Super User NorthernBasser Posted August 28, 2021 Super User Posted August 28, 2021 Lots of good options out there. You can use craw trailers to mimic craws. And swimbait trailers to mimic baitfish. If you're looking for quality swim jigs, check out @Siebert Outdoors (site sponsor). I'm a big fan of all his jigs, but for swim jigs I like the Shot Caller. This is one paired with a Z-Man Goat (which he also carries on his site). 2 1 Quote

Super User MN Fisher Posted August 28, 2021 Super User Posted August 28, 2021 My best luck with swim jigs is with a Berkley Pit Boss as the trailer - match the color best you can. 1 Quote

Lead Head Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 For me, nothing beats a 5" grub, usually white, but sometimes black, chartreuse, or green pumpkin. I use a menace on occasion, but the big grubs have been more productive. 1 Quote

Great trailer. My only wish is they started making them in more colors. They have no version of black/blue. Quote
Scott804 Posted September 2, 2021 Posted September 2, 2021 I like a hard kicking paddletail. A lot of people use grubs and craws and those can be good in cold water, but most of the time I use a swimjig I want lots of action. If you get a paddletail that kicks hard enough it will make the skirt of the jig shake and give you a secondary action that I find works really well in the warmer months. D-Walker & Fat Impact Keitech work great. 1 Quote

Havent tried the churro but its supposed to have lots of roll too. Quote
Marshall92 Posted September 5, 2021 Posted September 5, 2021 3.75 rage swimmer or 4 inch exoswim with the first rib off. Quote
Super User NorthernBasser Posted September 11, 2021 Super User Posted September 11, 2021 Tried a new swim jig trailer today (for me, anyway). The Gambler EZ Vibez (3.75"), I liked it, a lot. Really got the swim jig (6th Sense Divine 1/4 oz) rolling back and forth. 1 Quote
waymont Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 5” Cabelas’s swim minnow swimbait. Baitfish or bluegill color. Cut about 3/4” off the head. 1 Quote
