I really feel for you guys in the path of this thing. It never seems to end for you.
It was like that down here a few years ago and I don’t wish it on anybody.

The current track has it making landfall between Baton Rouge & New Orleans across the Atchafalaya Basin.

 

We're to the west which is the calmer side. We'll definitely get wind & rain, how much IDK!

I was supposed to be on the road to Montana yesterday with my bird dogs. Unfortunately a last minute failure in my trailer electrics derailed that plan until Amazon delivered a new DC power center yesterday. Now the hurricane is taking the whole train off the track. I think it was a Jewish proverb that said: "Man plans and God laughs ?"

 

So I'm going to stay to take care of things until everything sorts out. Gas stations already running out of gas, but my 4Runner is full and have laid in plenty for the generator(s).

 

Here on the Teche Ridge (a whopping 20 feet above sea level) we're safe from storm surge. The folks south of Hwy 90 here around the Atchafalaya are not so lucky.

 

Hurricanes are the price we pay for living in the Sportsman's Paradise. We know the drill by heart. Just ask Catt and the folks in Lake Charles who have endured more than their fair share of misery in recent years.

The last three tropical storms/hurricanes that have directly impacted me and my family were Isabel and Irene (while in MD) and Imelda (in Texas). Must be something about the letter I. 

 

By the way, my M-I-L's name is Ida. Not a good sign!

If Ida stays on the current projected track the eye will pass about 10 miles to the west of my home in Baton Rouge. I have a whole-house generator so I'm not worried about power. We have family that will most likely stay with us. I went shopping yesterday and bought plenty of food and supplies to get ready.

I would imagine it was made in Louisiana and then shipped to Kentucky. I got several sticks of it direct from a friend that used to live down there, oh my gosh it is good

Mine was vacuum sealed in an unmarked package like it came from someone’s basement ha ha

I just got back home from Eunice LA about an hour ago with 5 lbs. of boudin. I'll put boudin from Eunice up against boudin from anywhere else. Just sayin.

That's a fact jack! ? Thankfully I'm married to a full blooded Cajun lady from Eunice that can flat out cook.

I know how you feel. Stick a pin in the map in the center of Baltimore and draw a 60-mile circle around it. If it ain’t in that circle on the Western Shore, it ain’t a Maryland crabcake. Especially in DC.

Zummo's ain't bad at all for store bought. There's a sports themed chain of restaurants called "Walk Ons" that have an appetizer called boudin balls. There pretty good, but @Catt is right, the real stuff is south of I-10!

Back to the storm, just got a weather update, Ida has shifted west. I live in southern Arkansas, 9 miles from the LA border. We're looking at a crap ton of rain and 45 to 55 mph winds. That's bad enough, you guys down in LA be careful!

Walk On Sports  Bistreaux is co-owned by Drew Brees. There's one 1/4 mile from my house, their food is pretty Cajun.
