ajschn06 Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 I've had a tube sitting in my bag all year and haven't used it yet. Is this something that you really want to apply right before throwing it in the water, or would there be some benefit to throwing it on the night before and letting the jig soak it up a bit... Quote
GetFishorDieTryin Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Some plastic absorbs better then others so I think it would depend on that. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted August 26, 2021 Super User Posted August 26, 2021 I use it as needed. Apply it on the water. And I slather that stuff on just about every bait I throw. Btw, keeping it cool when it starts getting warm, is a solid plan. A-Jay 3 Quote
Tatsu Dave Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Megastrike holds on for a while and sure isn't going to hurt, I put some in the tube cavity of my swimming tube craws and it lasts quite a while. I also dip in JJ's dipping dye as well just before we pull out to fish. Its all about holding on to the bait longer....... 1 Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted August 26, 2021 Super User Posted August 26, 2021 I always apply it right before fishing. Quote

Maybe soak half of a foam ear plug in scent and slide that into that craw/tube. #tricky A-Jay 1 Quote
Super User WRB Posted August 26, 2021 Super User Posted August 26, 2021 I only add gel scent to soft plastics as I rig them on the hook. Some soft plastics are already scented and don’t add a different scent to those, it may not mix well or be compatible. Tom Quote

I learned this the hard way the first time I used it on a hot, sunny day (while leaving it sit out on the deck of my boat). I opened the tube up, and as I was messing with my bait and hook, I had the tube in an upside-down position. I didn't think anything of it, since when I used it earlier in the morning, I had to squeeze pretty hard to get it to come out. Well, let me just say that most of that tube emptied out onto my carpet as if it was water and not gel. 2 Quote

It doesn't taste so good ! A-Jay 2 Quote

Super User OkobojiEagle Posted August 27, 2021 Super User Posted August 27, 2021 I only use it as a bait lubricant... only apply it when it will benefit my bait sliding through appropriate cover. oe Quote
Super User GreenPig Posted August 27, 2021 Super User Posted August 27, 2021 I apply it to any bait that doesn't have trebles just proir to fishing. It's the most effective scent I've used. Quote
