I was stationed at Camp Hovey, which is on the backside of Camp Casey. I did most my drinking in Tong-Du-Chuan, which is outside of the gates from Casey, at a place called the American Club (Owner Ms. Kim...nice lady). Often we'd do a thunder run through To-Ko-Ri, catch a cab to TDC, and thunder run our way back to the main Casey gate. Needless to say, we weren't walking very straight by then. My first experience with Soju was in something they called Kettles. I'm sure your roommate knows them well. They are a lot like Hurricanes in that they're a fruity little drink served in a Kettle. I had a few glasses and wondered what all the hubbub was about. It was like drinking koolaid. Till I stood up to go to the bathroom, whereupon the room began to spin as I stumbled my way to the bathroom entry and proceed to ram my head into the top of the doorframe (Koreans are typically much shorter than Americans) and wound up on my backside. By the time the night was over, I couldn't stand. Quote
Bubba 460 Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 In Vietnam I was around a lot of South Korean soldiers (ROK troops). Unfortunately NONE of them looked like that. 1 Quote

No one need 10, 20 or 30 of any fish. The catch limits on almost everything should be 5 fish or less depending on size. Catch and release should become a way of life in most fishing. Yes, it’s nice to eat fish, but no one really needs more than one or two fillets for a meal. With easily overfished species like bass, just release them. There’s better fish to eat. Bass should be limited to 1 fish per day, per fisherman, at 15” if I set the regs. Who says there are better fish to eat? Who says that nobody needs more than a filet or two? It's fortunate for us that you won't be setting any regulations. 1 Quote

My parents are Indian. Whenever I catch a decent bass, they always tell me I should have brought it back. Whenever I bring back bluegills or crappie, they always ask why I only bring back such tiny fish. Whenever I filet a fish, they lose their minds and ask me why I’m wasting so much meat. I remember this one time that I foul hooked a decent carp while bass fishing. I sent a picture to my mom and she got SUPER excited. She couldn’t wait to turn it into fish curry. I had to explain to her that I’m not going to eat a fish that has been kissing the bottom of the lake and whatever garbage lies there for God knows how long. I love my parents, but I don’t think they understand fishing, lol Quote
