Largemouth don't get big around here, average is 1.5-2lb as a "good one". My best was 4 lbs so far. This thing was all of 5lbs+. You could fit a grapefruit in its mouth. Man I was just trying to tune in my spinnerbait set up for this weekend ?  lol. It seems like the most fish I lose are only on spinnerbaits, no idea what im doing wrong. MH Fast rod, 15lb invizx, nice hook set.... I need a drink.

Lost like when you went to grab it? Or earlier?  I’ve never had this problem with spinners. For me it’s freaking light wire jigs.

As I went to net her she jumped up and shook the hook. Any time they jump i lose them on a spinnerbait. Anything with treble, never.

Well that’s wild, usually trebles are the easiest hooks for a fish to throw. Keep after it, you’ll get her again. I never even get them to eat a spinnerbait so you’re ahead of me!!

I’ve lost ‘em on spinners when they jump. I’ve always attributed it to a bad hook set. Or maybe a hook that needed sharpening. Or both. Those hooks are pretty stout so if you don’t bury it, there’s a good chance it’s coming out during a jump due to the bulk.

That’s just my thoughts on it.

I’ve got a lot of them too. The skirts are falling off of some them , just never caught a fish on them.
