Taylormade113 Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 I wanted to try these lines on my treble, topwater, moving bait rod and the review is complete. YoZuri 12#: Not a fan. Memory. Tough knot cinching. And felt brittle and old on the reel in a quick amount of time. Sufix Advanced: High Hopes, but not to be. Felt stiff. Less memory than the YoZuri by a good amount. Again, looked old and frayed quickly. I will be sticking with my Sufix Elite 14# for this set up and 10# leader material on my Spinning set up. This stuff is just amazing. Less memory. Cast amazing. Looks new longer on the reel. Great knots with no slippage. Not stiff or brittle at all. This stuff just works for the applications I'm throwing. Do not hesitate to buy this product. Kris 1 Quote
Brian14 Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Very interesting, Yo Zuri and Sufix Advanced always get such glowing reviews. Quote
Russ E Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Even though the yozuri gets great reviews, I have personally never been impressed. Their pure flourocarbon line sucks. Suffix advance isn't bad, but as you noticed it frays fairly quick. It is also very thick line. I don't use mono much, but when I do it is usually maxima ultra green. It has never failed me Quote
PourMyOwn Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 I'll pile on here too about YZH- I swear I must have gotten a bad spool. It's one of those products that most posters like, but not me. Quote
Super User ChrisD46 Posted August 18, 2021 Super User Posted August 18, 2021 More manageable lines with less memory such as Sufix Elite or Trilene XL are going to have more stretch . YZH , CXX and most FC lines with less stretch - you will not like either . KVD Line treatment is a difference maker on YZH , CXX and FC lines . *Old School Wild Card Main Line : Berkley Big Game #12 lb. in the transparent green color with KVD Line Treatment - then just go bass fishing . I have 12 lb YZH and 10 lb Big Game spooled on my four baitcasters. I think when I respool, it will all be Big Game. Quote
Taylormade113 Posted August 18, 2021 Author Posted August 18, 2021 The good news is, I have never felt, with the applications I am using this line for (Elite) that stretch was a factor. It honestly may be a benefit. I am fishing it on a Dobyns Fury 703C and mainly use this for anything with a treble hook. The only single hook application would be a Spinnerbait, chatterbait, or Senko/Fluke. I have never felt like stretch was an issue with landing or setting the hook on any of these styles of presentations. Quote
David 7 Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 I’m really liking Sufix Elite 12# Can’t really imagine mono ever getting better than this. Low memory, soft, strong, good to tie knots with. Stretches but not too much stretch. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted August 18, 2021 Super User Posted August 18, 2021 Been using Elite for the past 4 months, I find it to be a very good line as far as memory, and stretch. Haven't any issues with abrasion so far. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted August 18, 2021 Super User Posted August 18, 2021 It's been a few years but the last time I tried Yo-Zuri Hybrid, it was not a good experience. As far as Sufix Advance goes, it was one the worst lines I have ever used. I think I tried 4 spools total and each one had it's issues. Finally, it's been maybe 3 years since I used Sufix Elite but it was good line> no issues at all. I used it for years but have made an almost complete switch to FC except on crankbaits, which I use Sunline Defier for. Quote
