I bought this reel to replace the Tac-40 (may it rest in peace) that I've finally worn slap out pitching jigs.

I bought this reel because:

A. It's $100

B. It is a solid metal framed reel with 15 lb drag. It will stay tightened.

C. Simple mag braking

D. 8.3:1 retrieve

I've only used it once, but there was really no adjustment getting used to it. I already have 3 of the discontinued Tournament MB reels of different ages, which all run like new. It was good right out of the box, though I didn't get a bite on the jig Saturday. I'll report back after I've used it a while and caught some fish.

I have a season and a half of regular use on mine. Still smooth as the day I got it. I'll be replacing a tired Carbonlite with another of these soon. Outstanding reel for the price.

Can’t go wrong with the LFS. Arguably the best 100 dollar baitcaster out there depending on who you ask. I like the Fuego just a tad better but honestly that opinion changes when I pick the LFS up again lol. A great reel for the price

I also have both. But my Fuego has been a bit of a disappointment. It works fine so far, but it has always been noisy, even after thoroughly lubing it. I know this is not the typical experience. I must have just gotten a bit of a dud.

I have four years in the salt on LFS Super Duty, sold two Lew's centrifugal brake reels, and bought another Super Duty at the current $143 price.  I gave a dual-mag Lew's to a friend, at least partly because it's a good reel to learn on, but mag-brake Lew's are impossible to beat for long, easy and reliable casting.

I hear ya. I have 3 Super Duty's, one of those discontinued Tournament series and a LFS. That $99 LFS might be the smoothest of the bunch. I'm happy with them all as well. Good stuff.

The Team Lite is amazingly smooth & 5.7 ozs doesn't hurt either.

Great reel. I think you will be happy.

I have the old model before the P2 pinion bearing and a new LFS inshore version. Love them both.

I have the basic model Lews LFS casting reel, for almost two seasons now. It's been great.
