Super User bowhunter63 Posted August 17, 2021 Super User Posted August 17, 2021 Start with Spinnerbait or Swim jig and slow down from there 1 Quote
BayouSlide Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 Usually an Owner underspin with a Suicide Shad. Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted August 18, 2021 Super User Posted August 18, 2021 I start with a crankbait most of the time. I usually start with three rods on deck. A crankbait, spinnerbait, and a T rig soft plastic. From there I get spinning rods out to finesse fish if nothing happens with the first ones. 1 Quote
Fred Allen Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 I always start with top water like frog or poppers or twitching floating minnows strike king sexy dog. Quote
Cdn Angler Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 If not weedy I pretty much start off with a jerk bait, topwater or swim bait. If they won't hit those I slow down and/or target bottom. Quote
PaulVE64 Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 We start from the top and work to the bottom. Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted August 18, 2021 Global Moderator Posted August 18, 2021 After reading more replies and trying to recall what I typically do (I fish a lot), I’m the opposite of most replies. When I come of plane and reach for one of my rods, I usually grab a flemsy spinning pole with 6 lb line and a little worm or tube. I want to say my thought process is get rid of the skunk and then swing for the fences but I usually catch the home run fish on the worm or tube and nothing with the swing for the fences lure 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted August 18, 2021 Super User Posted August 18, 2021 I start off with a pop-r, spook, or jitterbug when the temps are hot. If I don't see any surface activity, or get any bites within about an hour, I start fishing with a jig or t-rig. Quote
TennesseeBASSALLDAY Posted August 22, 2021 Posted August 22, 2021 A T-Rigged Googan Baits Craw or a Zoom red/black T-Rigged ribbon tail Quote
Deephaven Posted August 22, 2021 Posted August 22, 2021 If I have my druthers it is a frog. If it is on Tonka usually a chatter/spinner/jerk bait depending on the time of year. Quote
throttleplate Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 i usually throw a fit because my wife 99% of the time catches the first fish always on a t rig senko. Same color same favorite standing spot. What that does is make me second guess my spinner search bait approach. Quote
