Start with Spinnerbait or Swim jig and slow down from there

I start with a crankbait most of the time. I usually start with three rods on deck. A crankbait, spinnerbait, and a T rig soft plastic. From there I get spinning rods out to finesse fish if nothing happens with the first ones.

If not weedy I pretty much start off with a jerk bait, topwater or swim bait. If they won't hit those I slow down and/or target bottom.

After reading more replies and trying to recall what I typically do (I fish a lot), I’m the opposite of most replies. When I come of plane and reach for one of my rods, I usually grab a flemsy spinning pole with 6 lb line and a little worm or tube. I want to say my thought process is get rid of the skunk and then swing for the fences but I usually catch the home run fish on the worm or tube and nothing with the swing for the fences lure

I start off with a pop-r, spook, or jitterbug when the temps are hot.  If I don't see any surface activity, or get any bites within about an hour, I start fishing with a jig or t-rig.

If I have my druthers it is a frog.  If it is on Tonka usually a chatter/spinner/jerk bait depending on the time of year.

i usually throw a fit because my wife 99% of the time catches the first fish always on a t rig senko. Same color same favorite standing spot.

What that does is make me second guess my spinner search bait approach.
