The 'Tank trying to get a photo experience'.

We'll eventually get it but he certainly makes us earn it.

Tank is a great looking dog! It’s also great to see how active you are with your dogs. I know you have years of experience with them and it shows how you understand these working/sled/herding dogs. I sadly see in my neighborhood people think simply using their backyard as a baby sitter is how you get a dogs energy out. Sure these dogs are great ahtletes and they need physical activity but they also thrive off mental stimulation. Our trainer who helped us was very big on mental stimulation. We do nose work with him where we hide small bits of treats around the yard or house and say “find it” he loves that.

People say I am to strict with my dog at times. I tell them no training is a game that creates a bond. Him sitting, staying, leaving it, walking “center” is all a game to him where he will be rewarded.

Thanks and I agree with all of that.

Tank Needs a job - in Fact just about everything I do around the house, he think is his job too.

Every time I can include him -I do.  So he's up for anything and never wants to be left out.

I love it.

As for stimulation, for an indoor game , we have this 'easy button' we taught him to hit with his paw to make it sound off for a treat.

Then we started hiding all over the house.

Mostly in semi-plain sight at first but not to where he can see where or when we stash it.

Then the command is "go hit the button". And off he goes - we never help him find it and sometimes it takes him 10-15 minutes of sniffing and checking everything in the house.

But eventually we'll hear "That was Easy" and he'll come running to us all happy and mostly looking for his 'reward'.

Tank did pretty good during his annual routine Vet Check Up.

I was happy to be his emotional Support Human.

This winter started off with record snowfall here.

My wife shot this video of Tank & Kya making the most of it.

Those two have way too much fun.

Not that Lynn encourages them or anything.

From the moment I leave, Tank waits . . . and waits . . . and waits for my return.

Every Time.

You can't make a dog do that.

Absolutely one of the best parts of having a dog. Unconditional loyalty and friendship. They are happy to see you whether you’ve been gone for 10 minutes or 10 days.
