Does he kinda pull you around on that thing too?  Almost like a summer time dog sled.

Exactly ~

Sort of a must to keep the northern breeds (Huskies and Malamutes) in shape and happy off season.

But Bike Joring can be a great way to get a canine ALL the exercise they need.

Plus I could never run as fast or for as long as Tank for instance.  So he can really let loose and all I need to do is hold on.  The sled dogs are on a whole different level.

It's a great bonding tool/time and is especially valuable when fostering.

Definitely a learning curve.

A tired dog is a happy and balanced dog.

I want one of those dogs, but I know my limitations.

my Brothers friends bought one in El Paso.  Biggest ball of lightning level energy ever.  They reached out to see If I wanted to adopt her.  I said no.  too far.  they said, "we'll drive her to you".  :)

I know my limits.  I can't be outsmarted and have less energy than my dog.  :)

I am super glad we waited until we had a couple of decades of dog handling experience.

Learned my lesson when I had a Malamut years ago. Bought a bike with coaster brakes just so I could let here run for miles. Yup they have an unlimited supply of energy.

There are so many dogs who are abandoned because people only look at the beauty of the dog and not the trait and breed. Malinutes are a beautiful dog but I’m not active enough. My guy Hank is beautiful, white, and fluffy. The cutest puppies you’ll ever see! But they’re nocturnal by nature, you’re not going to erase 1000 years of breeding. He’s big and gentle, protective, and the best dog ever, but he’s nocturnal , and barks as a defense mechanism. Again you can’t erase 1000 years of DNA.

My point, look into a breed and not just the beauty of a dog. There are too many dogs that end up in a rescue because people look at the beauty of a dog and not their DNA.

Smoking hot day here in the north woods.

We decided to breakout the Puppy Pool for the first time for Tank.

He seemed to enjoy it.

Pretty sure we'll be needing a bigger pool.

I notice that you're standing 'out of range' for when Tank makes a splash....hope Lynn doesn't mind getting wet. :)

The Boxer I grew up with did the same thing with the hose-stream.

Yea - I wanted to watch him and see what the deal was.

Tank was mostly disinterested in the pool at first.

However once the hose was turned on,

and aimed in the pool, it was game on.

Past few weeks, Tank has just about perfected the blind side hat steal.

Seems he plans his shot when we least expect it.

He's not exactly subtle and good luck getting it back.

My wife Lynn was his latest victim.

Nah ~

There's some canine to human contact made,

but it's not violent in any way.

Anytime Tank gets to 'Jump' he's happy.

Once I realized he was 'trying' this,

I went with it and made it into a game.

Now it's pretty much a thing.

My malamutes pups used to snag my winter gloves and take off with them.

This is like that, just a bit more impressive.
