I just bought a used 8 horse Johnson engine.Model number JERCEC Serial Number B 7954622. I am going crazy searching the web to find there year it eas manufactured.At 86 I dont search the web with great success. Can anyone out there help me?

That's not a Johnson model number - should look something like this for an old 8HP (7.5) "8RCI-8RLCI"

If I had to guess, the model number is J8RCEC which was made in 1989.
