Hey coffee drinkers, what's your go to coffee?

My all-time favorite coffee is one of several Mocha Joe's dark roast blends who are out of Brattleboro VT with some half and half. However since I'm lactose intolerant and half and half in my coffee at times can be enough to make me feel awful, I usually drink it black and have settled on the Death Wish dark roast which is the original blend before they made a medium as my go to.

When I switched to Death Wish, I started drinking only one cup in the morning, and as many stronger coffees will give me the jitters, the Death Wish does not and it also does not fade away around 2-3pm. Plus it does seem to give me less heartburn than many others, and I like it black so I've stuck with it.

JFG. Cheap, bitter, made about a mile up the road. No sugar no cream just coffee

This is going to sound crazy, but I have had exactly one coffee in my entire life(!)

Never liked the smell...I know, I'm crazy!

Our local supermarket had Kona coffee at one point, maybe two blends. I recall really liking one of them.

You're a lucky man in some ways...  coffee is the only thing I think I'm addicted to.  (Only in the morning; I'm not an all-day drinker.)  But I HAVE to have a couple of cups or a big insulated mug full (black) in the morning.  I'm glad it doesn't have any bad health effects because I don't know if I could quit.

I've gone from regular old supermarket coffee to fancy mail-order beans and blends to espresso and back to store-bought stuff.  I've found that I enjoy it most if I merely change brands or types each time I need a new can.

I started roasting home roasting it in 2000.  After learning how and getting pretty good at it, that store bought stuff is hard to drink.  Even buying whole beans out of those bins and grinding as I use them don't help.   Coffee goes stale too quickly.

The first cup of the day is my favorite coffee, I really don't care what kind it is.

I concur with the above. We drink Counter Culture that’s roasted in Raleigh. They list the roast date on the bag. We also keep Cometeer pods in the freezer for those extra days. They’ll ruin you.

Dean's Beans out of Orange Massachusetts. Their "Roadhouse" has very low acidity which is easy on my 4:30 am empty stomach,  and it's at my door two days after they roast it.

They also do a ton of great things for the farmers in third world countries  where the beans are grown.  I don't talk politics online, but I will always use companies who do the right thing.

Besides a shower in the morning I have to have coffee, lots of coffee.  The first cup has to make my eyes get big as golf-balls, my face will start twitching on the left side and my voice changes into something that sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks. Whenever coffee does that it's  good coffee. I can tie a lure on 2.6 seconds right out of the chute.

What ever I have in the house.

Though for special occasions, some Caribou Mocha Java.

Blue Mountain, but expensive and hard to get authentic.

I also like most medium blends from BRCC

I also like to support  companies with good missions

Oh don't remind me - my MIL use to give me a pound of whole-bean every Yule. I'd use it sparingly so it'd last until the next Yule.

Authentic, Blue Mountain and Kona are hard to get and expensive.  Simply because there is a very small region they can be grown in, so only so much can be grown each year.

The lions share of what you buy  is not and authentic coffee.

There are other high grown coffees that can be roasted to actually have a smoother, richer flavor, but not the "name" so they are not as well known.

A lot of the green bean suppliers don't buy a lot of kona simply because most home roasters won't pay $15 - $20 a pound for the grade Kona that's available to them, when they can sell a better bean at almost half that price.

Your best beans never make to commercial roasters or suppliers.  The mega rich and five star hotels will buy them at auction, paying $30+ per pound  for them.  When you figure you loose 15% in roasting and shipping, that's some expensive coffee.

I get Dean's Beans a lot in my neck of the woods. Our work coffee (back when we had an office before I was remote) was the Sumatran French Roast, which is probably actually a little too strong and one of my least favorites from them, but still so much better than many.

My all time favorite Dean's Beans is the Mexican Chipas French Roast, followed by the regular Mexican Chipas.

Ring of Fire is pretty good too!

I prefer French Roast but any dark blend will do.  The freeze dried canned stuff like Folgers and Maxwell House from the grocery store is terrible.  I can't drink that stuff anymore.  I have a 30 ounce Yeti cup that I fill up every day.

I’ve been trying these for an instant coffee the last few weeks. Not cheap but very good. I suggest the Italian or French if you like strong. Can be had at Walmart
