oldgolf4 Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 I realize this subject was addressed back in 2012, but are there any new tackle storage boxes made specifically for bladed jigs? If so, how well do they work? I have trouble with the box I'm using not keeping the trailers straight and in good shape. Thanks Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 12, 2021 Global Moderator Posted August 12, 2021 Plano has the Edge Jig/Bladed jig box that is the best one I've ever used for them. Still the one I'm using now and don't see myself changing anytime soon. 3 Quote

I stole some of my wife's hair tie's and run them over the arms to hold them in and that works. Or rubber bands I guess... Quote

Once it's packed full I generally have to pry them out with another lure. 1 Quote

I have them in every other slot so that could be a factor I guess, but it's annoying. Everything rubber tied is fine.... Quote

Super User Fishes in trees Posted August 13, 2021 Super User Posted August 13, 2021 I don't carry that many chatter baits - maybe half a dozen or so. Half ounce ones in various colors and brands. I don't lose them very often, because I generally throw them on 17 or 20 lb mono. One of those thin 3600 size Plano boxes works for me and they all have their separate compartments. I do dry them out before I put them back in the box. Quote
MarkG52 Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 I use the Plano Edge as well. Works great except I have the same issue with Jackhammers floating around in it as well. Quote

I have the edge jig box and it is great for chatterbaits, but I wouldn't use it for lures with the trailer still on. For that, the edge flex will let you make it the right orientation and length so your trailered chatterbaits stay flat based on whether you are using the boxes longways or sideways. It's generally frowned upon to leave the trailers on for a long time though, especially if there's any salt in them - isn't good for the hooks. On jackhammers I usually put two of the same size/color in each slot and they seem to stay in fine. But my box is stored long side up so maybe it is different when they are on their side. Quote
