Super User MN Fisher Posted June 15, 2022 Author Super User Posted June 15, 2022 So close... Hatch lids are being sealed as well as the transition piece between the casting deck and TM deck. I'm gonna re-route some of the electrical - it's not much, just shifting the ends of the main runs from starboard to port in the bow. Manual for the outboard arrived - so now I can get to retrofitting an ECOS to it. I'm looking at early next week to complete it...then wait until the sauna abates before testing (I don't do well in the heat...) 8 Quote
volzfan59 Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 Ken, You are doing an amazing job, you should be proud. Others have said it already, but congratulations on the outboard! 1 Quote

Super User gim Posted June 16, 2022 Super User Posted June 16, 2022 The finished product is going to be incredible. What kind of chair do you have in mind for that pedestal/base by the outboard? 1 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted June 16, 2022 Author Super User Posted June 16, 2022 Just now, gimruis said: The finished product is going to be incredible. What kind of chair do you have in mind for that pedestal/base by the outboard? That's going to be a standard low-back...same as I had in the canoe. If you look close at the casting deck, between the two forward/inboard dry boxes, there's a 'dark spot'. That's a hole in the plywood for mounting another kingpin base. I'll have a butt-seat on a 22" pedestal up there. 1 Quote

Figured there was going to be a seat of some kind up there though. 1 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted June 20, 2022 Author Super User Posted June 20, 2022 So close - hatches, finish painting the port-outer hull, apply decals, a bit of electrical work - and she'll be done. 7 Quote

Ken when you're completely done...I think I speak for everyone else who has followed this since you started working on it. Would you please post a walk-through video of the entire rig in its completed form? Sort of like they do when they sell new boats or cars online. Open all the compartments, etc. Then when its time to hit the water for the maiden voyage, make sure you play some ACDC Thunderstruck for us too. 4 Quote

Never been an AC/DC fan - this is gonna be track one for the maiden voyage. FWIW: WT is coming to Minneapolis in October...I already got my ticket. 1 Quote

Super User MN Fisher Posted June 24, 2022 Author Super User Posted June 24, 2022 Just a little paint touch-up, install the starting battery in the stern (going tomorrow morning to buy it)...and d**n - she's done. Yes, I'll be doing a vid giving a 'sales pitch' type overview of the features I've put into this beast. Still looking at Monday for it's first outing. Anyone got an idea for a name? (I'm a trekkie, so something that relates to that would be cool) 7 Quote
volzfan59 Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 Ken, I'm not much of a Trekkie, but how about the "Enterprise"? That's probably to obvious. That said, I'm really happy for you, you've done an amazing job. Well done Sir, well done indeed. 1 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted June 24, 2022 Super User Posted June 24, 2022 Looks great Sir ! You did it your way and you did it right. Congrats and good luck with your maiden voyage. As for a Star Trek related name, how about Seven of Nine ? A-Jay 1 1 Quote

Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted June 25, 2022 Global Moderator Posted June 25, 2022 How about, “ego fishtical” Mrs. 12poundbass came up with that about 16 years ago. 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted June 26, 2022 Super User Posted June 26, 2022 As I was looking through the last page of photos I noticed something. Do you need to add cleats somewhere? Like if you need to tie off to a dock? 1 Quote

The original bow cap and stern caps have 'holes' in them (grab handles), I'm just tying the dock lines to those...look back at 6/19's post and you'll see the starboard stern cap with the grab hole. 1 Quote
