Finally had a free day to go fishing and this happened. Made it 3 blocks from my house and both trailer bearings went out.  I  am completely ticked off! Put close to$2k into this boat and have yet to get it on the water. Nothing like having a boat and fishing from the bank to make one happy.

I feel for you. Hopefully a new PB is in the works after you get your trailer repaired.

Both wheels were ready to fall off. Wife was right when she said it was good that it happened close to the house and not the interstate.

Didn't know I was supposed to change them? Learning moment for me so I have a guy that is going to fix it and put some new tires on as well.

She’s right about it’s good it happened closes to home …But couldn’t it have happened on the way home, after you fished for the day.
Glad no one got hurt.

Sorry bout your bad luck.  I think I have one going out.  Sounded pretty "grindy" last time I pulled my trailer.  I know very little about trailer maintenance...guess I'll be doing some YouTubing.

I've had trailer issues and it sucks.  Some was my fault, some wasn't.  I feel your pain.  I went years without any bearing issues with my old boat and it probably made me not respect doing preventative maintenance like I should have.  Good luck.

I always change the whole hub that comes with bearings in it. Lots easier and not much more expensive

I don't mind getting a little dirty, so I pull, clean and repack my trailer bearings prior to ice out. I also have 'Bearing Buddies' and give them a shot of grease every few outings.

Well...in case nobody has told you yet, BOAT is an acronym very cleverly changed by marketing departments to have lowercase letters and no punctuation, Break Out Another Thousand...sorry for the rough luck, hope you turn the corner soon

Papajoe nailed it. A little preventative maintenance goes a long way, and bearing buddies are your friend. I give mine a top off every third trip. Don't feel alone. I learned the hard way too.

Thank you all.  I will be repacking the bearings for the 2nd time since 1988.  Yes I can be that forgetful.  And very lucky.
